 PRAYERS & PRAISE

HEALTH CONCERNS – Al Grimm has returned to the Veterans Facility
after being hospitalized for pneumonia last week. See the Prayers &
Praise Line for all prayer requests and praise reports.

BE IN PRAYER THIS WEEK for those in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on a WORK
MISSION TRIP. Included are: Larry Kleymeer, Phyllis and Roger
Vander Sloot, Jim Mc Elroy, Les VanWyk, Dale & Shari Dood, Della
Sawyer, Elaine Martin, Jim Emelander, Keith Benthin, and Dee
Danavage.

CONGRATULATIONS to Wesley Borkowski who will be Confirmed at
St. Mark’s Lutheran Church today. If you would like to send a card,

IN APPRECIATION – Thank you to my Grace family for all the kindness
shown, for your prayers, and for the cards I received following my

 MOTHER’S DAY

NEXT SUNDAY Pastor Rick will continue with his series of messages to
apply the Heidelberg Catechism to every day faith. The message
next week, “I BELIEVE IN HIM” is based on Romans 6:1-14, 12:1-2.


 MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

MISSION/OUTREACH TEAM AND CONSISTORY – A combined meeting is
being planned for Monday, May 17.
** NOTE THE CHANGE OF DATE!**

DISCOVERY KIDZ SUMMER ROTATION BEGINS MAY 23RD. The summer
rotations will consist of only 3 week segments. The kids are broken
down into 2 groups: 3 & 4 years and K-5th grade. This means that for
teachers only a 2 week commitment is needed and for Shepherds a 3
week commitment. Volunteers are needed for the “Jesus Feeds
Five Thousand” rotation, which is May 23 through June 6.
TRAINING FOR THIS ROTATION will be Sunday, May 16 following the
morning service. Meet in the Fellowship Hall.

JUICE BOXES are needed for Discovery Kidz. If you are able to donate,
please drop them off in the kitchen.

THE SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of May is designated for CRAN
HILL RANCH. This offering will be received on May 30th.

S.O.S. (Service on Sunday) MAY 16, 3 – 5 PM WESTOWN ADVENTURE
This will be a chance to explore “The Other Way” Ministries. An
interactive adventure is planned. You will have the opportunity to
see the 7 properties, hear from staff and neighbors, get a taste of
what it’s like to live, learn, work, grow, and play at “The Other Way”,
and experience firsthand the work God is doing in Westown!
We would like to know how many to plan for,
so please sign up on the sheet on the narthex table.

HELP NEEDED FOR CLUB 3:16 ON THURSDAYS FROM 2:45 – 5:00 PM.
Only four weeks remain…could you help at all or even just one day?

 VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL – MARKETPLACE 29 AD
 June 15 – 18 6:00 – 7:45 pm.

“job descriptions” are printed for you to consider:

JEWISH MOTHER’S DUTIES

 Explain about Jewish Traditions
o All this material will be given to you to just read from
 Talk informally about life during Jesus time (material provided)
 Help the children decide which shops they will be attending for the day (your helper will help with this as well)
 Lead them to each area during VBS ie: Marketplace, Drama & Songs
DRAMA
 The Dramatizations will take place in the midst of the ordinary life of Marketplace to give the children a total experience.
 You will act out a short script each day of an event that happened during Jesus Time.\

 Please pray also for Connie Maile, sister of Jim Emelander, who is battling cancer.
 Keep Ruth Mikula, mother of Marjean Tibbets, in your prayers. She is 91 and has been hospitalized this past week. She is on meds and has returned to her home, but still in quite a bit of pain.
 Keep these friends and family serving in the military in your prayers: Amie Pierce, Doug Desmarais, Frank Senko, Matthew Halverson, Dave Vander Berg, Nick Borkowski.
