Whatever led you to our church today, we believe God rejoices in having

TODAY AT GRACE

 

9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ MEET.  All Children ages 3

 years – 5th Grade meet downstairs by the youth desk.

 

MUSIC MINISTRY – Thank you to Ray Zondervan for his special

 number this morning.  We also thank Janet Dekkinga for playing for

 us today.  She will be filling in on occasion this summer when Paul or

 Karen are not available. 

 

WORLD MISSION BANKS – If you still have a bank to turn in, you

 may do so today!  Bring them forward during offering time and place

 on the table in the front of the sanctuary.  Thank you so much to all

 who participated in this project.  We should have a total number of

 solar powered audio bibles that were able to be purchased with our

 donations soon!

 

OUR SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of May is designated for

 “ONE SUNDAY OFFERING 2015”.  The One Sunday offerings are

 used to support local church planting efforts.  Our particular

 offerings will be designated for CONNECTIONS.  This offering will

 be received this morning. 

 

A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George & Connections, and the needs and vision at

 Grace Reformed Church.

 

THE ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS will meet in the

 Consistory Room following the morning service today.  This will be

 our last week for the summer months.  Class will resume in the fall.

 

Y-LIFE youth will leave for Mrs. Heather’s cottage following the service

 this morning and return around 8:00 pm.  Be sure to have a swim

 suit and towel, sack lunch, and sweatshirt for evening.  Dinner will be

 provided.

 

5:00 PM - A combined Pentecost service will be held at Unity 

 Reformed Church (4450 Poinsettia SE, Kentwood).  Note the

 5:00 pm start time!  This will take the place of our service at Grace.

 

PRAYERS & PRAISE

 

HEALTH CONCERNS – Carolyn Baker was a patient at Blodgett

 hospital this past week with Colitis.  Please keep her in your prayers. 

 For all other Prayer Requests and Praise Reports, see the Prayer Line

 in your bulletin today.

 

CONGRATULATIONS are extended to Rev. Rodger and Phyllis

 Dalman who recently celebrated their 69th Wedding Anniversary.

 They surprised us as they were visiting their old churches to reminisce

 about the time spent there (Rev. Dalman was our pastor from 1959-

 1965). They are both doing well!  If you would like to send them a

 card, their address is:  500 Lakeside Dr., Apt. 142, Zeeland, MI 

 49464.

 

AT THE LAST MEETING OF THE CONSISTORY, the Elders and

 Deacons met with Heather Dood concerning the Commissioned

 Pastor Program of the RCA.  A motion was made to enter, back as

 needed, and support Heather in the Commissioned Pastor Program.

 Also, with a portion of the overages from the 2014 budget, the

 Mission and Outreach Committee disbursed additional funds to:

 Talking Bibles $500  Keith and Mary Beavon $500

 Murray & Carol Moerman $500 Jackson County Ministries $500

 Start up of Jeff & Chelsea Lampen $2000  

 Al & Sue Schreuder  $1000

 

NEXT WEEK, JUNE 7, 2015

GRADUATION SUNDAY

 

NEXT SUNDAY Pastor Rick will continue with the “Read the Bible in

 a Year” study.  We will celebrate with our 2015 Graduates.

Prayers & Praise Line

Congregational Prayers and Praise

  • We pray today for World Mission.  We think and pray for the people that will receive the Treasure, a solar powered Bible.  We thank those who have given their change for this great ministry.
  • We pray for our youth as they finish up another year of school.  We thank God for teachers and places to learn. 
  • Remember Heather Dood in your prayers as she prepares for a very active week of VBS this summer. 
  • We pray today for Pastor George and his work at Connections.  We pray for those who worship together at the Crossing.
  • Keep Carolyn Baker in your prayers as she continues her recovery at home.
  • Please keep Wilma Kamphuis in your prayers following hip surgery. 
  • Prayers continue for both Mac and Mary Mc Alary:  Mac at Vista Springs and Mary as she is improving through her therapy program.
  • Thank you for remembering Wes Dekker’s sister, Janet, in your prayers. She will soon begin radiation.  Please pray that they will be able to restrain any cancer left in her system. 
  • Please remember Marie Mc Donald, friend of Esther Hoag, who has cancer.
  • Continue to keep Lola De Young and her parents, Matt & Lindsey, in your prayers. 
  • We pray today for Jeff and Chelsea Lampen as they prepare to serve in Romania. 
  • Pray for our Shut-in’s: Mrs. Tena DeVink, Mrs. Wilma Kamphuis, Mr. Mac Mc Alary, Mrs. Ruth Ver Merris.
