TODAY AT GRACE

 

9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ MEET.  All children ages 3

 years – 5th Grade meet downstairs by the youth desk.  The kids will

 join us in the service this morning and share what they have learned

 this past month.

 

TODAY WE WELCOME Rev. James Van Zetten who will lead our

 service and share the message this morning. 

 

A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George & Connections, and the needs and vision at

 Grace Reformed Church.

 

THE ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS will meet in the

 Consistory Room following the morning service today.  This class

 covers various subject matter pertaining to our Christian walk.

 night of music featuring our Choir and Grace’s music groups, Lorinda

 Vander Werp and her Choir from Parkwood Presbyterian Church of

 Jenison, and the VETS from the Vets Home in Grand Rapids.

PRAYERS & PRAISE

 

HEALTH CONCERNS – Continue to be in prayer for Joan Patterson. 

 She was expected to be moved to Laurels of Hudsonville.  She is

 doing better and continues to regain her strength.  Wilma Kamphuis

 was able to return to her home.  She is scheduled for hip surgery on

 May 13. Please keep Mary Mc Alary in your prayers.  She is

 experiencing quite a bit of pain and continues to be unable to drive. 

 Also pray for Mac as Mary is not able to get to see him as often as she

 would like to. For all other Prayer Requests and Praise Reports, see

 the Prayer Line in your bulletin today.

 

OUR CHRISTIAN SYMPATHIES are extended to John and Tymie

 Boeve, Tim & Lyndsey and family, Doug & Keri and family, and Ryan

 & Chelsea.  John’s mother, Bettee Boeve, passed away on Tuesday,

 April 28 at the age of 79.  Services were held on Friday at Calvary

 Christian Reformed Church. 

 

EARTHQUAKE IN NEPAL – You will have the opportunity to give to

 to support the relief efforts in Nepal through the RCA Global Mission. 

 We will take a SPECIAL OFFERING on Sunday, May 17.  See the

 insert in your bulletin today for more information.

NEXT SUNDAY Pastor Rick will continue the Bible in a Year Series. 

 We will celebrate the sacrament of Infant Baptism.  We will not have

 an evening service at Grace next week.

 Donations for VBS! I will have a full list soon but for now please

 save your Pringle cans! We need about 100 of them! 
 
 First VBS Information Meeting will be May 17th following the

 service in the Fellowship hall.

 

WORLD MISSION BANKS - Donations will be used to send the

 gospel to those who have never heard through the use of “The

 Treasure”.  This is an audio Bible that is solar powered and available

 in different languages.  If you have filled your bank and would like to

 start another, please pick one up from the narthex table!  We will

 continue this collection through Pentecost, May 24.

 

PLEASE SAVE salsa size jars, tall or squatty, for a GEMS craft project. 

 You may bring them to the church kitchen.  Thanks!

Congregational Prayers and Praise

 

  • We thank and praise God for the gift of music.  We thank our Music Director, Paul Kerkstra!  We also give thanks for all the men & women at Grace who have a part in the music ministry here!
  • Thank you God for our children worshipping in Discovery Kidz. We are thankful today for all the teachers and volunteers here at Grace.  We are so thankful of their time, energy and talents.
  • Remember Heather Dood in your prayers as she begins to prepare for a very active week of VBS this summer.  We pray for those who are considering volunteering and also the neighborhood children that will receive an invitation.
  • We pray today for the Boeve family after the loss of John’s mother Bettee.  We pray for peace and comfort for her husband Al and the rest of the Boeve family.
  • We pray today for Jeff and Chelsea Lampen as they prepare to serve in Romania. 
  • Please keep Wilma Kamphuis in your prayers as she has returned home and is preparing for surgery.
  • We pray for Joan Patterson now at Laurels of Hudsonville.  We pray that she will continue to regain her strength and will return to her home soon.
  • Thank you for remembering Wes Dekker’s sister, Janet, in your prayers. She will soon begin radiation.  Please pray that they will be able to restrain any cancer left in her system. 
  • Please remember Marie Mc Donald, friend of Esther Hoag, who has cancer.
  • Continue to keep Lola De Young and her parents, Matt & Lindsey, in your prayers. 
  • Pray for our Shut-in’s: Mrs. Tena DeVink, Mrs. Wilma Kamphuis, Mr. Mac Mc Alary, Mrs. Ruth Ver Merris.
