TODAY AT GRACE
THIS MORNING we welcome the GEMS and their leaders who will be
sharing with us today. THE SPECIAL OFFERING is designated for the
GEMS (Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior) ORGANIZATION. Our
thanks to the GEMS for their part in the service today.
CHILDREN & WORSHIP
Children ages 3 & 4 years meet in Fellowship Hall with
Worship Leaders Heather Dood and Hennie Rosema.
Children K – 2nd Grade meet in the choir room with
Worship Leader Elaine Martin and Sandy Farris.
11:20 AM–12:20 PM SUNDAY SCHOOL - There are classes available for
all ages three years old and upward. A nursery is available for those
children under the age of three.
ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES
Sunday School Guide Class will meet in the Consistory Room. Join
them for lively discussions relating to our Christian walk.
Songs and Psalms – Brad Class will lead this group in the Chapel.
Today and for the rest of May we will look at the Song of Songs
You Were Shaped For Serving God – Meet at the Crossing.

guests as well as the choir from Faith Reformed Church. Invite a

PRAYERS & PRAISE
HEALTH CONCERNS – Jan VanWyk is now a patient at St. Joseph Mercy
Hospital. Her phone number is 734-712-4916. Phyllis
Vander Sloot underwent outpatient surgery Friday. Kathy
De Ruiter underwent outpatient surgery on Friday as well.
Please keep these persons and their families in your prayers as well
as those listed on the Prayers & Praise Line in your bulletin today.
OUR CHRISTIAN SYMPATHIES are extended to Peter & Pat Cook and
family upon the death of their brother, Dr. James Cook, on Tuesday,
May 1st at the age of 82. Services were held Saturday at Hope Church
in Holland. Dr. James Cook was Professor Emeritus at Western
Theological Seminary and a son of our church.
IN APPRECIATION – Thank you for all the prayers and cards, the visits
from Pastor Rick, and all the calls and other expressions of care and
kindness show to me and my family. The Lord is taking care of me,
I have my faith in Him. Please continue to keep us in your prayers.

CHANGE FOR ALASKA – Remember to drop your coins and dollars in the

UNCOVER EVIDENCE and learn the truth about Jesus at THE QUEST FOR
TRUTH VBS - JUNE 11-15! As we explore Holy Land sites kids will
hear amazing Bible Stories, take Bible challenges, make artifacts, eat
yummy snacks, play fun games, sing awesome songs, and more! Sign
up to be a part of this exciting event! See Darrell if you have any
VBS HELPERS MEETINGS will take place during the Sunday School hour
on Sunday, May 20 (this will replace the meeting scheduled for the
NEEDED! VBS DECORATING ITEMS! Please check out your basements,
garages, etc for items we can use to decorate for VBS this year. Some
items needed are: painter’s canvas, Styrofoam, poster boards,
shovels, crates, milk crates, plastic pool, pottery, baskets, treasure
chests, lawn chairs, thick rope, blankets….On the narthex table is a
picture of the look we will be attempting to copy! Please sign up if
you have any of these items available (they will be returned to you).
You can bring your items to church and put them in the classroom
downstairs marked for VBS. ALSO…FOOD ITEMS that will be
needed for the snack are listed on the narthex table. Any donations
would be greatly appreciated!
PRAYER PARTNERS – New Prayer Covenant Partner schedules are now in
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED for help with Club 3:16 this summer. Tutors are
needed on Tuesdays for grades 3-8. Volunteers are needed to help
with Club 3:16 lunches the first and third Thursdays of each month
from 12-2 and Club 3:16 FAMILY dinners the second and fourth
Thursday of each month from 6-8. See Nikki with any interest or
COMMUNITY BLOOD DRIVE at Faith Reformed Church, Thursday, May 10,
1:30 – 7:00 pm. You can call to schedule an appointment or walk-ins

• The life and witness of Dr. Jim Cook
• The upcoming VBS “Quest for Truth” plans being made
• Jan VanWyk in Ann Arbor and her family as they travel to be with her
• Deb Pierce, Phyllis Vander Sloot, and Kathy De Ruiter following recent surgeries
• Arlyce Beukelman, sister of Joan Emaus, who is now under hospice care in California ~ Joan will be leaving this Wednesday to spend time with her in California
• The following friends and family members with health concerns:
