PRAYERS & PRAISE

 

HEALTH CONCERNS – Kaleab Marshall is now home after

 undergoing surgery this past week. Please pray that he receives

 positive results. Please keep Laura Marshall in your prayers as she

 progress through her pregnancy. Please be in prayer for Sophie

 Licari who recently broke her collarbone while playing. See the

 Prayer and Praise Line for all prayer requests and praise reports.

 

IN APPRECIATION – Second Chance Clothing would like to thank

 you for your clothing donations. These clothes will be sold in the

 store at an affordable cost to generate funds to give back to the

 neighborhood. Come check out the store sometime! We are located

 at 520 Leonard NW. Your shopping helps keep the store going! 

 This ministry is also dependent on volunteers to run the store. If

 you would like to hear more about this ministry and/or get further

AT A RECENT MEETING OF THE ELDERS the membership of

 Rick & Susyn Veldheer, and baptized children Kendra and Zachary,

 was transferred to First Reformed Church of Grandville.

 

SPECIAL DATES TO REMEMBER

 

Monday, June 13 – Thursday, June 16, 6:00 – 8:00 PM VBS 2011 –

 MARKETPLACE 29 AD a Bible Time experience for kids ages 4

 years – 5th Grade. Visit the shops in the marketplace, dance and sing,

 see live animals and much more. On Thursday a dinner will be

 provided for the family. Reserve a spot for your children/

 grandchildren or neighbors today! Forms are on the narthex table.

 

MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

VBS VOLUNTEER SIGN-UPS HAVE STARTED! Please help us

 be a blessing to our Grace kids and our community this year as we

 share what it was like in Jesus’ time. We will be traveling back to

 29 AD. 
 
 NEEDED:
 Jewish Mother's- This has been modified from last year to make

 it run smoother for you and a little easier. You will lead the children

 around to the areas they are suppose to be at, share customs that

 went on in their homes and review Drama with them (all info

 provided).
 
 Helpers: You will assist the Jewish mother with the children each

 day.
 
 Drama: This is a nice place for those of you that can't do the whole

 week but have at least 1-2 day open to help. You will read from a

 script and act out the short story for the children. You don't need to

 be a professional...the kids will love you no matter what!
 


DISCOVERY KIDZ SUMMER ROTATION SIGN UPS – Looking

 for someone to do Games June 5th and 19th. Please sign up in the

 narthex or see Heather if you are able to fill these dates. 

 

FEMALE VOLUNTEER NEEDED FOR TRANSPORTATION on

 May 19 for a scheduled outpatient surgery. Needed from

 approximately 9:30 am – 3:00 pm.

 

EXPLORE “THE OTHER WAY” Ministries on Sunday, May 15 from

 3 – 5 pm. Discover and explore the 44 year historic presence of “The

 Other Way” in the Westown Neighborhood. An interactive adventure

 awaits you! Come see the 7 properties strategically located in the

 neighborhood. Hear from staff and neighbors about the impact of

 the programs. Get a taste of what it’s like to live, learn, work, play

 and grow at “The Other Way”. Experience firsthand the work God is

CHECK OUT CAMP GENEVA! Mark your calendars for Sunday,

 May 15th. Camp Geneva will host an open house on that afternoon

 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. All camper families and community members

 welcome! Joining us with a live broadcast will be JQ 99.3 FM! We’ll

 have games for younger children, the pool will be open, and you can

 explore the facilities and grounds before camp starts.

  1. We thank and praise God for the women in our lives that mean so much to us.
  2. We are thankful today for our GEMS and their leaders!
  3. We thank and praise God for the freedom we enjoy in this country. We remember in prayer all those who have fought for that freedom.
  4. We praise God today that Janet Yonkers was able to move into a different building at the Manor … one where the patients require LESS care (she is 97 years old)! Her new address is B 7 Timberbrook Manor, 17383 Oak Crest Parkway, Spring Lake, MI 49456
  5. We remember in prayer the following family or friends of our members that are ill or receiving treatments: Tyler Huisman, nephew of Wes & Linda Lowing, following surgery; Amee Bekkering, daughter of Dick & Ruth Locke, who just underwent reconstructive surgery; Marvin Witvliet, brother of Arlene Dekker, who is beginning chemo for esophageal cancer; Larry VerMerris, son of Ruth Vermerris diagnosed with pancreatic cancer; Linda Hoezee, daughter-in-law of Ann Hoezee who is undergoing chemotherapy.
  6. Keep these friends and family serving in the military in your prayers: Amie Pierce, Doug Desmarais, Frank Senko, Dave Vander Berg
  7. Pray for our Shut-in’s: Mrs Tena DeVink, Mrs Miriam Schrotenboer, Mrs Anne Hoezee, Mrs Janet Yonkers.
