TODAY AT GRACE

 

9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ MEET. All children ages 3

 years – 5th Grade meet downstairs by the youth desk.

 

THE ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL GUIDE CLASS will meet in

 the Consistory Room following the morning service today. This class

 covers various subject matter pertaining to our Christian walk.  

 

A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George and Connections.

 

6:45 – 8 PM Y-Life will meet at the Crossing.

 

PRAYERS & PRAISE

 

HEALTH CONCERNS – Continue to be in prayer for Jen Koster who

 is in CA getting her medications worked out. She will be there for

 another couple weeks. DJ Schutter, young son of Don & Inez

 Schutter, will undergo a MRI on Tuesday. Please keep the Schutter

 family in your prayers as they seek answers for DJ. For all other

 prayer requests and praise reports, see the Prayers & Praise Line.

 'BELONGING' NEW MEMBER CLASS - You can be part of

 this class even if you do not want to become a member at this

 time....the class will enable you to become a member but it

 will not obligate you to do so. If you have any questions, call

 POLITICS AND THE NATION – This is a 6 week study

 using a DVD by Charles Colsen. Wes Dekker will lead this

 class that meets in the Consistory room.

 UNDERSTANDING YOUR BIBLE – This class is led by

 Pastor Rick and meets in his office.

NEXT WEEK, NOVEMBER 24, 2013

 

NEXT WEEK Pastor Rick will begin a new series of messages “Songs of

 the Soul”. See the insert in your bulletin today for the details.

 

The SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of November and also

 Thanksgiving is designated for the RCA CARE Network for

 World Relief. This is the former Reformed Church World Service

 (RCWS). CARE represents Compassionate Action and Relief

 Efforts. This offering will be received on Nov. 24 and Thanksgiving Day.

 

THE CONGREGATIONAL MEETING will be held immediately

 following the morning service. The Elder and Deacon slates will be

 presented for approval, the budget for 2014 will be presented and

 other church business will be discussed. The children may remain in

 Discovery Kidz so parents are able to attend the meeting. Copies of

 the proposed 2014 Budget are available on the narthex table.

 Christmas music and getting the church ready for the Christmas

Monday, December 2, 7:00 pm PRAISE TEAM PRACTICE.

 

Sunday, December 15 – The DISCOVERY KIDZ CHRISTMAS

 PROGRAM “Signs of Christmas” will take place during the morning

 worship service.

 

Sunday, December 22 – The SENIOR CHOIR will present the

 Christmas Cantata “Festival of Carols” during the morning worship

 service. 

 

MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

BUTTER BRAIDS are once again being sold by our GEMS. Cost is

 $12.00 each. You can see one of the girls, or an order form is

 available on the narthex table. Orders are due TODAY.

 

ENJOY THE CITY coupon books are being sold by our Discovery

 Kidz! The cost is $20, with $10.00 of that going directly to the

 Discovery Kidz program. Last year they made over $400.00, making

 it the best fundraiser ever! The coupon book has coupons to over 100

 local merchants. A sample book is available on the narthex table.

 TODAY is the deadline to order your book! They make great

 Christmas presents!

 

THE HOLIDAYS ARE FAST APPROACHING! Once again we are

 Providing opportunities for you to help those in need!

  • Participate by buying gifts for the Wyoming Christmas Store. This store is set up for low income families of the neighborhood. Parents are able to purchase gifts for their children at ¼ the cost. If you didn’t get a tag from the tree, do so today! Please bring your gift back to Grace by December 1. 
  • Help by purchasing gifts for the “Being the Hands” program that we are once again setting up at DeVos Children’s Hospital on Tuesday, December 10. We are in need of gifts for older youth and adults. Gifts of any amount are appreciated. Gifts can be brought to the library area by the Christmas tree. A box will be marked for these gifts.

Congregational Prayers and Praise

 

  • We thank and praise God today that Joan Patterson was not hurt following an accident on Wednesday.
  • Continue to keep the Philippine victims of Super Typhoon Haiyan in your prayers. The RCA CARE Network is working with its partners to help the people of the Philippines. (Our special offering for November and Thanksgiving is designated for the RCA CARE Network.)
  • We pray for the plans that are being made to host an Alpha Class here at Grace in January. We pray for Rowin & Rachel Mulder as they lead the informational meeting on Friday. We pray God’s leading was we think of persons to invite.
  • We pray for those who are hurting following the loss of a loved one. We continue to lift up Rowin Mulder and his family in prayer.
  • Please be in prayer for Jen Koster while she is away. We pray that they will get her meds all corrected and she will be back home very soon.
  • Keep the Schutter family in your prayers as DJ goes in this week for a MRI.
  • Please pray for Luke Dieffenbach. May he do well with is recovery therapy. 
  • Please be in prayer for Pastor Rick’s nephew, Jon Stouten. He has just been diagnosed with Crohns Disease.
  • Eva Moore, mother of Sandy Farris, underwent surgery after falling and breaking her ankle in 3 places. Please keep her in your prayers.
  • Please continue to keep Shawn Keener in your prayers.
  • Continue to be in prayer for Lola De Young and her parents, Matt & Lindsey. 
  • Continue to keep Amie Pierce in your prayers as she is stationed at Fort Riley in Kansas. 
  • Pray for our Shut-in’s: Mr. Ralph Bolt, Mrs Tena DeVink, Mrs. Jane Duthler, Mrs. Wilma Kamphuis, Mrs Miriam Schrotenboer, Mrs Ruth Ver Merris.
