TODAY AT GRACE
TODAY is Youth Sunday. We thank all the kids who had a part in the
service today! Thank you also to Darrell Delaney, our Director of
Children and Youth, for putting this service together and sharing the
NO CHILDREN & WORSHIP today!
ELDERS INVITATION - If you have questions, concerns, joys, or
prayer needs that you would like to share, an Elder will be available
in the front of the sanctuary following the service this morning.
11:20 AM–12:20 PM SUNDAY SCHOOL - There are classes available for
all ages three years old and upward. A nursery is available for those
children under the age of three.
ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES
Sunday School Guide Class will meet in the Consistory Room. Join
them for lively discussions relating to our Christian walk.
“Creeds and Confessions” – Brad Class will lead this group in the
Chapel. This week we will look at The Athanasian Creed.
“Surrendering: Your Life for God’s Pleasure” meet at the Crossing.

10:00 AM THANKSGIVING SERVICE at Grace! Pastor Rick will share
the message. Our Special Offering is designated for the Grace
Mission and Outreach Fund. Nursery: Linda & Janna
NEXT SUNDAY – NOVEMBER 25, 2007
OUR SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of November is designated for
Grace Mission & Outreach. This offering will be received next
Sunday (and also Thanksgiving Day).
A CONGREGATIONAL MEETING will be held following the morning service
next Sunday. Election of Elders & Deacons will be held, the
proposed budget will be presented and other church business will be
discussed. There will not be Sunday School on this day, however,
activities will be held for children during this time. Sunday School
teachers can plan on attending this meeting.
LISTED BELOW ARE THE PERSONS who will make up the slate for the
upcoming ELECTION FOR THE OFFICE OF ELDER & DEACON. Three
persons will be elected to service as Elder and three as Deacon. Each
will serve a three year term.
ELDER: Dennis Bush, Stan De Witt, Gladys Kessel, Larry Palma,
Rick Postema, John Sawyer
DEACON: Lon Gerbers, Luke Nordlund, Dan Stuk, Pat Ter Beek,
ABSENTEE BALLOTS – If you will not be able to attend the Congregational
Meeting on November 25, Absentee Ballots are available on the
counter in the office. Signed Absentee Ballots can be given to the
clerk, Keith Baker, or placed in his box in the office. All ballots must
be signed and handed in prior to the Congregational Meeting.
PRAYERS & PRAISE
OUR CHRISTIAN SYMPATHIES are extended to Ray & Kari Fron and family
upon the unexpected death of Ray’s mom, Maryella Fron, at the age
of 74 in California where she lived. A Memorial Service will be held
this week at St. Thomas Catholic Church.
IN APPRECIATION – Thank you for your prayers, calls, cards, and notes
following my recent surgery. A special thank you to Pastor Rick for
his visit and prayers on my behalf. It is so good to be a part of the
loving fellowship of Grace Reformed Church. ~Arlene Dekker

MAKING THE BUDGET – We are glad to announce that Peter & Pat Cook
have graciously offered to make up half of our deficit by years end if
the congregation will make up the other half. We are appreciative for
this challenge. Congregation, can you help? Any creative ideas?
Let’s rise to the challenge for Christ and His church.
WELCOME KIA! The Executive Committee along with Consistory has
approved Kia Delaney as the Club 3:16 Coordinator. This is a part
time position primarily funded with the assistance of the South
Grand Rapids Classis, for which we are grateful. Also approved is
that Darrell and Kia will be moving into the parsonage in December.
Further details of this will be shared at our November 25
Congregational Meeting. Kia’s new email address is:
COOKIES IN NOVEMBER – For the month of November cookies will be
available after the morning service. You will find a cookie jar on the
table in the narthex. Donations for the cookies are designated for the
AT Children’s Project. The Van Zoerens, former members of Grace,
have 2 granddaughters who have Ataxia-Telanglectasia, one is now
ready for a wheelchair. All donations gratefully accepted!
THE HOLIDAYS ARE FAST APPROACHING! Once again we are providing
opportunities for you to help those in need!
Participate by buying gifts for the 3rd Annual Wyoming Christmas Store. This store is set up for low income families of the neighborhood. Pick up a couple tags from the tree!
Help by purchasing gifts for the “Being the Hands” program that we are setting up at DeVos Children’s Hospital. We are in need of gifts for older youth and adults. Gifts of any amount are appreciated. Bring these gifts to Nikki’s old office.
NEW NURSERY SCHEDULES will be put together soon! Many volunteers
are needed. Even if you can only help a couple times a year, please
sign up on the narthex table. If you have helped in the past, there is
no need to sign up again…we will automatically schedule you. Please

will be planned soon.
D & W SHOPPING DAYS
D & W will donate 3% of our purchases back to our youth programs
when we shop D & W November 18-24. It’s easy-all you have to
do is provide our code 95688 there are no sign ups or coupons
PRAISES 4 HIM, a Southern Gospel Quartet, now has a CD available for
purchase. As you know, Ben Van Kammen, is a member of that
Group and a former member of Grace. If you are interested in
purchasing a CD, contact Ben or we have some available in the
church office. There is a letter with more details in your mailbox.

The Prayer and Praise Line is a way to let our Grace Congregation
know about your prayer needs and praise reports.
Praise God for…
• The work of Joseph Jennings and the many youth he was able to reach through his assemblies at the schools last week
• The youth that made commitments to Christ at our service
• Our Youth at Grace
• The ministry of Club 3:16 and the lives that are impacted
• Our many volunteers
• Continued healing and strength for Nancy Lipscomb (George & Hennie Rosema’s son Chad’s mother in law) ~ She was able to return to her home and continues to improve! Thank you for your prayers.
• Linda Tacoma, daughter of Bill & Ruth, who was diagnosed with
cancer and will be undergoing surgery
• Wilma Osterink, a member of our Choir, as she recovers following
surgery (Wilma’s address is: 3806 Kinsley Pl, Winter Park, FL 32792)
• Those recovering from recent surgeries and hospitalizations
• Gen Kroon at the Laurels of Hudsonville ~ she is now in “comfort
care” which is similar to the Hospice program
• Rick & Laura Marshall as they go through the adoption process
• Tarah Fron and the August Team at IICD Dowagiac as they prepare
for an International Trip to Africa
