THE NEXT GALAXY will soon be published. Articles are due by November
4. You can place your articles in the box attached to the file cabinet
in the main office, or submit them to Pat Ter Beek or Sandy Gort.

BUCKETS FOR BATTERIES – A bucket has been placed near the entrance
door downstairs for battery recycling. The Grand Rapids Deacons’
Center has provided us with a challenge to care for God’s creation
and recycling is a great way to do that. Did you know that household
batteries contain about half of the mercury used in the US?
Rechargeable batteries contain a significant amount of cadmium, a
know carcinogen. When batteries are simply thrown away these
chemicals find their way into the air, ground, and water supplies.
By recycling we can cut back on soil contamination and water
pollution. Please bring your old batteries here to church, place them
in the bucket provided, and we will recycle them for you! Thank You!
