Prayers & Praise Line

November 20, 2016

Congregational Prayers and Praise

  • Thanksgiving week!  We are so thankful for warm homes, an abundance of good food on our Thanksgiving tables, and family and friends to share the day.  We are most thankful for God’s presence in our lives through the good days as well as the days that cause us sadness and grief.  We thank God for the gift of his son and eternal life.
  • Today we lift up the persons that are a part of our church family that have recently lost loved ones.  We have been praying for them recently.  We think especially of:
    • Sandy Sorenson and her family who lost their niece, Rachel Andrakowicz unexpectedly on Monday, November 14 at the age of 28.
    • Roger and Phyllis VanderSloot upon the loss of Roger’s cousin, Lois Vander Sloot on Monday, November 14 at the age of 68.
    • Josh & Alissa Crooks, missionaries in Germany.  The service for their daughter was held this past Friday at Crossroads Bible Church in Grand Rapids.
  • We pray as we work through the process of electing Elders and Deacons to serve on the Consistory.
  • Continue to keep Pastor Rick in your prayers as he leads us.  Pray for wisdom, strength and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
  • We pray today for Heather Dood as she leads the Discovery Kidz downstairs, and the other youth activities that take place during the week.  We pray for The Crossing after school program and the families that participate.
  • We thank God for the ministry of Connections.  We pray for Pastor George as he leads them each week.
  • Please keep Ken & Cindy Wylie's granddaughter Lana in your prayers as she awaits treatment for vision concerns.
  • We thank God for his faithfulness to Shirley De Bruin as she goes through Chemo treatments. We pray for strength.
  • Please pray for Rita Oppenhuizen, mother of Pastor Rick, who is a patient at Metro Hospital.
  • Please continue to remember our family members who are in need of healing, comfort, and strength.  Larry Ver Merris, son of Ruth Ver Merris; Jackie, daughter in law of Roger and Phyllis Vander Sloot;  Mike Stuk, brother of Dan; Betty Parps, mother of Tymie Boeve; Deb Stouten, sister of Pastor Rick; Brent Kerkstra, son of Paul; Janet, sister of Wes Dekker.
  • Pray for our Shut-in’s: Mrs. Tena DeVink, Mrs. Wilma Kamphuis, Mrs. Ruth Ver Merris, Mr. Jim Friar.

As other prayers are shared, you are invited to write

them down and include them in your prayers for our

congregation this week. Please keep the church

informed of your prayer needs and praises.
