Many opportunities are available to us here at Grace.  Find something that is close to your heart and consider giving today!

  • The WYOMING CHRISTMAS STORE here at Grace on Saturday, December 5.  This store is set up for low income families of the neighborhood.  Parents are able to purchase gifts for their children at ¼ the cost.  Take a tag from the Christmas tree on the library area.  VOLUNTEERS are needed to set up the store and work at the store on the shopping day.  See the sign up on the narthex table.
  • Help by purchasing gifts for the “BEING THE HANDS” program that we are once again setting up at DeVos Children’s Hospital on Tuesday, December 8.  We are in need of gifts for older youth and adults.  Gifts of any amount are appreciated.  Gifts can be brought to the library area by the Christmas tree.  A box will be marked for these gifts.

  • OUR GEMS are collecting new underwear and socks for children of all ages this Christmas season.  There is a “Hello Kitty Hamper” by the lower level doors for your donation.  Or you may put them on the desk in the office!

  • SPECIAL DIET FOOD COLLECTION FOR FNOW – In the month of November we will be collecting “special diet” foods for Family Network of Wyoming.  Many people that come to the pantry are on special diets such as gluten free, or are diabetic.  These items cost more and are not usually available to be purchased inexpensively at places such as Feeding America.

  • FAMILY NETWORK is also in need of the following:

Toilet paper, toothpaste and toothbrushes, shampoo and

conditioner, plastic grocery bags, egg cartons - the one dozen size.

 VOLUNTEERS are needed:

  • Volunteers to work at the pantry on Mondays or Wednesdays from 10 am – 5 pm (and or all of that time frame)
  • Truck Drivers to make local pick-ups for the pantry with their truck.
  • Volunteers to look over and clean donated medical equipment
  • Volunteers to translate Spanish to English.

  • OUR SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of November and

Thanksgiving is also designated for FNOW.

Prayers & Praise Line

November 22, 2015

Congregational Prayers and Praise

  • Thanksgiving Week!  We are so thankful for warm homes, an abundance of good food on our Thanksgiving tables, and family and friends to share the day.  We are most thankful for God’s presence in our lives through the good days as well as the days that cause us much sadness and grief.  We thank God for the gift of his son and eternal life.
  • We pray today for Heather Dood as she leads the Discovery Kidz downstairs, and the other youth activities that take place during the week.  We pray for The Crossing after school program and the families that participate.  We are so thankful for the many volunteers who give of their time and energy each week!
  • We thank God for the ministry of Connections.  We pray for Pastor George as he leads them each week.
  • Please continue to remember Karen Ver Hulst in your prayers.
  • Pastor Rick’s sister, Deb Stouten, has moved to Mary Free Bed for therapy.  Thank you for keeping her in your prayers.
  • Thank you for remembering Wes Dekker’s sister, Janet, in your prayers. Please pray that she will develop, through the Holy Spirit, a more positive attitude.
  • Please remember Marie Mc Donald, friend of Esther Hoag, who has cancer.  Also Esther’s sister, Wanda, had a mild stroke and is in need of our prayers.
  • Please continue to be in prayer for Lola De Young and her parents Matt & Lindsey.  Lola was released from the hospital which we are so thankful for!!  They will continue to live in Ann Arbor as Lola still has many appointments and so they can keep a close eye on her.
  • Pray for our Shut-in’s: Mrs. Tena DeVink, Mrs. Wilma Kamphuis, Mrs. Ruth Ver Merris, Mr. Jim Friar.
  • Neighborhood Church Ministries is encouraging the community of churches in Wyoming to lift one another up in prayer.  This week we pray for Rev. Steven Cron and St. Joseph the Worker Parish.  Let’s join together in this effort to encourage one another and lift one another up in prayer.

As other prayers are shared, you are invited to write them down and include them in your prayers for our congregation this week.  Please keep the church informed of your prayer needs and praises.
