TODAY AT GRACE

 

9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ MEET. All children ages 3

 years – 5th Grade meet downstairs by the youth desk.

 

The SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of November and also

 Thanksgiving is designated for the RCA CARE Network for

 World Relief. This is the former Reformed Church World Service

 (RCWS). CARE represents Compassionate Action and Relief

 Efforts. This offering will be received today and Thanksgiving Day.

 

A CONGREGATIONAL MEETING will be held immediately

 following the morning service. The Elder and Deacon slates will be

 presented for approval, the budget for 2014 will be presented and

 other church business will be discussed. Written reports from Pastor

 Rick Oppenhuizen, Pastor George Grevenstuk (Connections),

 Heather Dood (Children & Youth), Shari Dood (Outreach and

 Compassion Ministries) and Kelly Cornelisse (Club 3:16) are

 available on the sound board. The children may remain in

 Discovery Kidz so parents are able to attend the meeting.

IN APPRECIATION – Friends & Family at Grace, Thank you so

 much for the many hats, gloves & mittens for our students at

 Parkview Elementary. As winter approaches, we are seeing more &

 more kids without the needed clothing to play outside safely. Thank

 you for your part in being a blessing to these students & helping

 them enjoy winter in Michigan! ~Teresa Dood

 “Now Thank We All Our God”. Join us as we gather

 together to express our gratitude to God for our many

 blessings. Nursery: Jayme Dood, Sandy Farris.

 

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 29, 2013

 10:00 AM CHRISTMAS DECORATING of our church. Come

 out and we will have a good time together listening to

 Christmas music and getting the church ready for the

 Christmas season. We will all go out the lunch after

 completed! See Tymie if you have any questions.

FIRST SUNDAY IN ADVENT

 

NEXT WEEK Pastor Rick will continue the Advent series with the

DATES TO REMEMBER

Monday, December 2, 7:00 pm PRAISE TEAM PRACTICE.

 

Thursday, December 5, 2:30 pm – SET UP for the Christmas

 Store. A light supper will be provided. Help is needed to unload

 cars as the gifts arrive from other churches, and also sorting and

 pricing. Sign up on the sheet in the narthex. 

 

Saturday, December 7 - WYOMING CHRISTMAS STORE

 If you have not already brought your gifts to Grace, please do so by

 December 1. There are still a few tags on the tree if you didn’t get one

 already! Help is needed on the day of the store. Needed are

 wrappers, shopper assistants, assistants for the gift certificate and

 jewelry table, and baked goods are needed. Sign-up sheets are on the

 narthex table.

 

Sunday, December 8 – Y-LIFE for Middle and High School Youth. You

 also will meet on Dec. 15. More details to come. (No meeting Dec. 1)

 

Tuesday, December 10 – BEING THE HANDS program at DeVos
 Children’s Hospital. We are in still need of gifts for older youth and

 adults. Gifts of any amount are appreciated. Gifts can be brought to

 the library area by the Christmas tree. A box will be marked for them. 

 

Sunday, December 15 – The DISCOVERY KIDZ CHRISTMAS

 PROGRAM “Signs of Christmas” will take place during the morning

 worship service.

 

Sunday, December 22 – The SENIOR CHOIR will present the

 Christmas Cantata “Festival of Carols” during the am worship service.

Prayers & Praise Line

Congregational Prayers and Praise

  • We thank and praise God today for our many blessings. For family and friends, warm homes, plenty of food on our tables, and the right and honor to worship God in freedom.
  • Continue to keep the Philippine victims of Super Typhoon Haiyan in your prayers. The RCA CARE Network is working with its partners to help the people of the Philippines. (Our special offering for November and Thanksgiving is designated for the RCA CARE Network.)
  • We pray for the plans that are being made to host an Alpha Class here at Grace in January. We pray for Rowin & Rachel Mulder as they lead this process. We pray God’s leading was we think of persons to invite.
  • Please be in prayer for Jen Koster while she is away. We also pray for Phil and the children during this time. May they feel God presence in their lives in a very real way.
  • Please pray for Luke Dieffenbach. May he do well with is recovery therapy. 
  • Please be in prayer for Pastor Rick’s nephew, Jon Stouten. He has just been diagnosed with Crohns Disease.
  • Please continue to keep Shawn Keener in your prayers.
  • Continue to be in prayer for Lola De Young and her parents, Matt & Lindsey. 
  • Continue to keep Amie Pierce in your prayers as she is stationed at Fort Riley in Kansas. 
  • Pray for our Shut-in’s: Mr. Ralph Bolt, Mrs Tena DeVink, Mrs. Jane Duthler, Mrs. Wilma Kamphuis, Mrs Miriam Schrotenboer, Mrs Ruth Ver Merris.
