WELCOME

A warm welcome to our visitors and members alike during this season of Advent.  As we prepare ourselves to celebrate again the coming of our Lord, let us affirm the joy Christ brought into the world.  May such joy live within us as we worship the Lord.  Please take a moment and sign your name and address on the Fellowship Register as it is passed today.

 

TODAY AT GRACE

 

9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ will meet.  All kids ages

 3 years – 5th grade meet downstairs by the youth desk.  Our theme for

 November is “We need Jesus to help us guard our hearts”.

 (Philippians 4:8).  Activities will be available for the children

 during the congregational meeting today.

 

OUR SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of November is designated

 for Josh & Alissa Crooks.  This special offering will be received

 today.

 

A CONGREGATIONAL MEETING will be held today following the

 morning worship service.  A slate with Elder and Deacon Nominees

 will be presented for approval.  The 2017 budget will be presented

 and other church business will be discussed.  Written reports are

 available on the sound board from Pastor Rick, Heather Dood, and

 Pastor George Grevenstuk.

IN APPRECIATION – Thank you to Pastor Rick and our Grace

 family for holding our family up in your prayers over the last few

 months as Dan’s brother fought cancer.  He did receive ultimate

 healing as he now has gone to his heavenly home.  We appreciate

 your prayers, kind words, and other expressions of sympathy.

 7:00 – 8:00 PM S.O.N.G. (Soldiers of the Next Generation) for

 all kids PreK - 8th Grade. Meet with Mrs. Heather in the

 Discovery Kidz area.

 FORGIVING THOSE WHO HURT US – Class meets in

 the Consistory Room.  This upcoming week we will be studying

 Chapter 8 in Lewis Smedes' book "The Art of Forgiving –

 When You Need to Forgive and Don't Know How".  We would

 love to have you join us! If you need a book or study guide,

 please let Lorinda know.

 

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 1, 2016

 2:30 PM SET UP for the CHRISTMAS STORE.  A light

 supper will be provided.

 7:00 PM THE THURSDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDY GROUP

 will meet in the Consistory Room.

 

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 3, 2016

 WYOMING CHRISTMAS STORE – If you have not brought the

 gift you purchased to church already, please do so by the set

 up time on Thursday.  Sign up on the narthex table if you can

 help.  Everyone who volunteered to help, please come 10

 minutes before your assigned time.  If you volunteered to

 bring cookies, please drop them off by Thursday set up time.

NEXT SUNDAY, DECEMBER 4, 2016

2nd SUNDAY OF ADVENT

 

NEXT SUNDAY we will celebrate the LORD’S SUPPER.  Pastor

 Rick will continue the Advent series Christmas Makes Sense, with

 the message:  The Tastes of Christmas”.  See the insert in your

 bulletin today.

 

6:00 PM EVENING SERVICE we will meet at Beverly Reformed

 Church for the month of December.  Rev. Harvey Hertz will share the

 message.

 

DATES TO REMEMBER

 

Tuesday, December 6 – BEING THE HANDS at De Vos Children’s

 Hospital.  You can bring your donations to the library area by the

 Christmas tree.  Thank you to all who have donated! 

 

Sunday, December 11, 10:00 am – Our DISCOVERY Kidz will present

 their Christmas Program “Shepherds, Sheep, and a Savior”. Please

 have your children to church by 9:15 am on that morning. 

 Children's Christmas program attire- All children participating are 

 asked to wear black bottoms and white tops. See Heather with any

 questions.  **Save the date: Wednesday, December 7th will be a full

 dress rehearsal for children's Christmas program at 6:45pm. 

 

Sunday, December 11 – Y-LIFE CHRISTMAS PARTY (not the 18th as

 previously planned).  More details to come!

 Christmas.

 

MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

NO CROSSING after school program Dec 20-28th.  We will resume

 January 3rd.

 

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE who donated GROCERY BAGS

 for Family Network of Wyoming. They will be so welcome,

 especially at this time of year where there is great need.  Your

 donations are appreciated!  A special thank you to Sandy Farris and

 Lorinda Vander Werp for putting the bags all together and organizing

 the efforts.  Thank you also to Jerry Vander Wal for providing the

 Meijer bags.

Prayers & Praise Line

November 27, 2016

 

Congregational Prayers and Praise

 

  • We pray for the Congregational meeting being held after the service today.  We thank God for the many blessings bestowed upon our church and congregation.
  • We pray for the Christmas Store being held at Grace on Saturday.  We thank God for the many churches that have provided gifts and who are volunteering at the store.  We pray for the families that will be shopping.  May they see the love of God through our actions this Christmas season.
  • Continue to keep Pastor Rick in your prayers as he leads us.  Pray for wisdom, strength and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
  • We pray today for Heather Dood as she leads the Discovery Kidz downstairs, and the other youth activities that take place during the week.  We pray for The Crossing after school program and the families that participate.
  • We thank God for the ministry of Connections.  We pray for Pastor George as he leads them each week. 
  • Please keep Ken & Cindy Wylie's granddaughter Lana in your prayers as she awaits treatment for vision concerns.
  • We thank God for his faithfulness to Shirley De Bruin as she goes through Chemo treatments. We pray for strength.
  • We thank and praise God that Pastor Rick’s mother was able to go back to her home after being hospitalized.  Please pray for continued healing and strength. 
  • Please continue to remember our family members who are in need of healing, comfort, and strength.  Larry Ver Merris, son of Ruth Ver Merris; Jackie, daughter in law of Roger and Phyllis Vander Sloot;  Betty Parps, mother of Tymie Boeve; Deb Stouten, sister of Pastor Rick; Brent Kerkstra, son of Paul; Janet, sister of Wes Dekker.
