led you to our church today, we believe God rejoices in having you in this place.

TODAY AT GRACE

TODAY we will share with churches around the world as we pray for

 persecuted Christians on INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER. 

 

9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ MEET. All children ages 3

 years – 5th Grade meet downstairs by the youth desk.

 

THE ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL GUIDE CLASS will meet in

 the Consistory Room following the morning service today. This class

 covers various subject matter pertaining to our Christian walk. 

 

A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George and Connections.

 

6:00 PM – We will gather with our sister churches here at Grace for a

 REFORMATION SERVICE. You will have the opportunity to meet 

 Martin Luther, John Calvin, and Pope Paul III.

 

6:45 – 8 PM Y-Life will meet at the Crossing.

 

PRAYERS & PRAISE

 

HEALTH CONCERNS – Luke Dieffenbach was admitted to St.

 Mary’s this past week. Please pray that his difficulties with sleeping

 as well as other problems will be corrected and he will be able to

 return to Mary Free Bed and continue rehab soon. For all other

 prayer requests and praise reports, see the Prayers & Praise Line.

 

IN APPRECIATION – Thank you to everyone who donated food,

 volunteered your time, and prayed for the ACCESS County Wide

 Food Drive. Over 50 tons of food was collected overall. Our

 donations all went to the FNOW Food Pantry who now serves over

 400 families each month. We thank you all for your continued

 support and generosity.

 

Grace you once again have out done yourselves!! THANK YOU!!!

 THANK YOU!!! The Trunk or Treat was a HUGE success. We had

 28 Trunks present and close to 200 people come thru at my best

 guess! Many from the neighborhood as well as our own families

 here at Grace! I received many thank you's from those going thru

 thanking us for putting on such a great event!! I am looking

 forward to next year as this becomes a Grace tradition. Thank you

 and Crock Pot dinners! Come out and enjoy dinner and

 fellowship prior to the nights classes!! 

 6:30 PM SENIOR CHOIR PRACTICE.

 6:45 PM DISCOVERY KIDZ Christmas Program Practice. 

 7:00 – 8:00 PM

 GEMS (Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior) for girls in

 grades K – 8th. Meet at the Crossing

 VICTORS – For boys in grades K – 8th. Meet in the

 Fellowship Hall!

 BE BIG – For Preschool children. Meet in the Nursery!

 'BELONGING' NEW MEMBER CLASS - The class

 usually has 6 sessions. You can be part of this class even if

 you do not want to become a member at this time....the class

 will enable you to become a member but it will not obligate

 you to do so. If you have any questions, call Shari Dood at

 538-7498. 

 POLITICS AND THE NATION – This is a 6 week study

 using a DVD by Charles Colsen. Wes Dekker will lead this

 class that meets in the Consistory room.

 UNDERSTANDING YOUR BIBLE – This class is led by

 Pastor Rick and meets in his office.

 7:00 PM The THURSDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDY GROUP

 will meet in the Consistory Room. 

 

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2013

 5:30 PM VEGGIE TALES LIVE for all those with reservations! 

 If your child uses a booster, please bring it along. We should

 be returning to Grace around 8:15 pm. See Ms. Heather if you

 have any questions.

 

NEXT WEEK, NOVEMBER 10, 2013

 

NEXT WEEK Pastor Al Schreuder, RCA missionary in Chiapas Mexico,

 will be with us and share an update on his ministry as well as the

 morning message.

MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

THE HOLIDAYS ARE FAST APPROACHING! Once again we are

 Providing opportunities for you to help those in need!

  • Participate by buying gifts for the Wyoming Christmas Store. This store is set up for low income families of the neighborhood. Parents are able to purchase gifts for their children at ¼ the cost. See your mailbox for more information.
  • Help by purchasing gifts for the “Being the Hands” program that we are once again setting up at DeVos Children’s Hospital on Tuesday, December 10. We are in need of gifts for older youth and adults. Gifts of any amount are appreciated. Gifts can be brought to the library area by the Christmas tree. A box will be marked for these gifts. 
  • Holiday Giving Network – Volunteers are needed to provide a Christmas or Thanksgiving basket for a family in Kent County. If interested, sign up at www.accessofwestmichigan.org. Questions? Call the office here at church 538-3100.

ENJOY THE CITY coupon books are being sold by our Discovery

 Kidz! The cost is $20, with $10.00 of that going directly to the

 Discovery Kidz program. Last year they made over $400.00, making

 it the best fundraiser ever! The coupon book has coupons to over 100

 local merchants. A sample book is available on the narthex table.

 This sale will run until Nov. 17. They make great Christmas presents!

Prayers & Praise Line

November 3, 2013

Congregational Prayers and Praise

  • We praise and thank God today that He is always available. That we can have a constant communication with Him in prayer.
  • We pray for the many Christians around the world who are being persecuted for their faith.
  • Please pray for the process of electing new Elders and Deacons. We pray today for our Consistory. We are thankful for their time and service. 
  • We pray for the plans that are being made to host an Alpha Class here at Grace in January. We pray for Rowin & Rachel Mulder as they lead this process. 
  • Please pray for Luke Dieffenbach. Pray that they can get his sleeping and breathing issues figured out so he can continue his rehabilitation. 
  • Thank you for the many answered prayers for Shawn Keener. She is doing well and was able to go home a week early following the stem-cell transplant. Please continue to keep her in your prayers.
  • Continue to be in prayer for Lola De Young and her parents, Matt & Lindsey. 
  • Continue to keep Amie Pierce in your prayers as she is stationed at Fort Riley in Kansas. 
  • Pray for our Shut-in’s: Mr. Ralph Bolt, Mrs Tena DeVink, Mrs. Jane Duthler, Mrs. Wilma Kamphuis, Mrs Miriam Schrotenboer, Mrs Ruth Ver Merris.

 

As other prayers are shared, you are invited to write

them down and include them in your prayers for our congregation this week.
