 prayer needs that you would like to share, please see the Pastor or

 an Elder today.  Elders will be greeting at the doors as you leave the

 sanctuary this morning and they are also listed on the back of your

 bulletin.  You may also make a notation on the Fellowship Register.

Whatever led you to our church today, we believe God rejoices in having you in

this place.  Please take a moment and sign your name and

TODAY AT GRACE

 

TODAY we remember the persecuted church on the International Day

 of Prayer for the persecuted Christians around the world. The

 Discovery Kidz will take part and share what they have been up to in

 their last rotation.

 

9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ for kids ages 3 years – 5th

 grade meets downstairs by the youth desk. 

 

THE ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL GUIDE CLASS will meet in the

 Consistory Room after the morning service. They cover various

 matters using the Sunday School Guide.  You are welcome to join in!

 

PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George & Connections, and the needs and vision at

 Grace Reformed Church.

 

11:30 – 2:30 PM THE BUILDING TASK FORCE will meet.

 

6:45 – 8:00 PM Y-LIFE regular meeting tonight at the Crossing.

 

SUNDAYS AT SIX - For our evening service we will be meeting  

 at Faith Reformed Church.  Pastor Rick will share the message:

 “The Badge of Suffering: I & II Peter & Jude”.

 on the menu along with potato and macaroni salad!

 Come out and enjoy dinner and a time of fellowship prior to classes!

 6:30 PM SENIOR CHOIR PRACTICE.

 6:45 – 8:00 PM

 S.O.N.G. (Soldiers of the Next Generation) will

 meet.  This is for ages 3 years – 8th Grade

 

NEXT WEEK, NOVEMBER 12, 2017

 

NEXT SUNDAY Pastor Rick will begin a new series of messages:

 “Parting Words”.  See the insert in the bulletin today for details.  

 

SUNDAYS AT SIX - For our evening service we will be meeting  

 at Faith Reformed Church.  Pastor Rick will share the message

 “Itchy Ears: I, II, III John”.

HEALTH CONCERNS:  Fred Hiemstra is home after undergoing

 outpatient gallbladder surgery on Friday. For all other praise

 reports and prayer concerns, see the prayers and praise line in your

 bulletin today.

 

DATES TO REMEMBER

 

Thursday, November 16  WOMEN’S MINISTRY will be heading to see 

 “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” at Cornerstone. 

 The show starts at 7:00 pm.  If you would like to carpool and ride in

 the van, meet at Grace at 6:15 pm. 

 

Monday, November 20, 7:00 pm SPECIAL CONSISTORY MTG.

 

Thursday, November 23, 10:00 am THANKSGIVING DAY

 SERVICE here at Grace. 

 

Sunday, November 26 – A CONGREGATIONAL MEETING will be

 held following the morning worship service.  A slate with Elder &

 Deacon Nominees will be presented.  The budget for 2018 will be

 presented and other church business will be discussed.

 

Tuesday, November 28, 1:00 pm THE ELIZABETH CIRCLE will

 meet to discuss Lesson 8, Amos 3 in our study book.  All women

 welcome.

 

Thursday, December 14, 7:00 pm WOMEN'S MINISTRY is holding

 "CUP OF CHRISTMAS" event in the Fellowship Hall.  You may

 sign up to either just attend the evening with us or  decorate a table

 for Christmas and invite your own guests (each table will hold 6

 people comfortably but can do 8 if you would like).  We are asking

 everyone to bring a dozen cookies if you wish to participate in the

 cookie exchange that night. Sign up in the Narthex. If you have

 additional questions please see Pat Ter Beek or Heather Dood.

 

MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

THE SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of November and also

 Thanksgiving is designated for the Grace Building Fund Tree

 Removal and Trimming expense. 

 

OUR GEMS are having a fundraiser!  They are selling awesome kitchen

 pans with lids that can be personalized!  Also miscellaneous items

 such as cutting boards, mugs, and other gift items.  These would

 make great Christmas presents!  TODAY is the deadline to order!

 

The WYOMING CHRISTMAS STORE will be held here at Grace on

 Saturday, December 2.  This store is set up for low income families of

 the neighborhood.  Parents are able to purchase gifts for their

 children at ¼ the cost.  Take a tag from the Christmas tree on the

 library area.  Look for more information placed in your mailbox.

Help also by purchasing gifts for the “BEING THE HANDS”

program that we are once again setting up at DeVos Children’s Hospital on Tuesday, December 5.  We are in need of gifts for older youth and adults.  Gifts of any amount are appreciated.  Gifts can be brought to the library area by the Christmas tree.  A box will be marked for these gifts.

Prayers & Praise Line

November 5, 2017

Congregational Prayers and Praise

  • We pray today for all the Christians throughout the world that are persecuted.
  • We pray as we work through the process of electing Elders and Deacons to serve on the Consistory.
  • Please pray for the Holy Spirit’s presence and guidance as Pastor Rick and Donna and all of us go through these days of transition. 
  • We pray for Heather as she prepares for her final exams and becomes a Commissioned Pastor. 
  • Please pray for Pastor George and Connections and for the youth and adults that attend each week.  We pray for them as they continue to grow and expand.
  • Please pray for the Search Team as they begin their work.  May the Holy Spirit guide their paths. 
  • Remember Fred Hiemstra in your prayers following surgery.  We pray for quick and complete healing.
  • We pray today for Betty Figueroa.  We pray as they seek the best treatment for her.
