TODAY AT GRACE

 

TODAY we celebrate and praise God as we Commission Rev. George

 Grevenstuk as our new church plant Pastor. Cake & Coffee will be

 served following the service. A time of prayer for Pastor George and

 the Crossing Community Ministry will be held in the sanctuary after

 the service. Anyone who would like to join in is welcome. 

 

THANK YOU to our special guests this morning, Rev. Dr. Randy

 Weener and Teresa Dood. We appreciate your participation in our

 service today!

 

9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ MEET. All children ages 3

 years – 5th Grade can be a part of the Grace Discovery Kidz! Meet

 downstairs by the youth desk. 

 

ELDERS INVITATION If you have questions, concerns, joys, or

 prayer needs that you would like to share, please see Pastor Rick or

 an Elder today. Elders will be greeting at the doors as you leave the

 sanctuary this morning and they are also listed on the back of your

 bulletin. You may also make a notation on the Fellowship Register as

 it is passed today.

 

THE ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL GUIDE CLASS will meet in the

 Consistory Room following the morning service today.

NEXT SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 2011

NEXT SUNDAY morning we will celebrate the sacrament of infant

 baptism as Hayden Desmarais is baptized. Pastor Rick will continue

 the series “When God Shows Up”.

 

 PRAYERS & PRAISE

HEALTH CONCERNS – Pat Ter Beek was re-admitted to

 Butterworth Hospital and is being treated for an infection. Ruth

 Ver Merris is now at Georgetown Manor (Room 19, 141 Port Sheldon

 Rd., Grandville, MI 49418) For all other prayer requests and praise

 reports, see the Prayers & Praise Line.

 

IN APPRECIATION – Thank you, to our Grace Church family for the

 prayers, cards, phone calls, and other acts of kindness extended to

 us upon the sudden illness and death of our sister-in-law, Dorthella

 (Dode) VerMerris; and regarding our brother-in-law, Norman

 VerMerris. Please continue to pray for Norm during this difficult

 time, as he is recuperating from major surgery, is grieving the

 death of his wife and now, undergoing chemotherapy for pancreatic

 cancer. ~With Appreciation, Ruth VerMerris & Shirley DeBruin

 

 Thank you to Della Sawyer for supplying the delicious carmel

 apples for our Wednesday Dinner! They were very appreciated!

 

OUR CHRISTIAN SYMPATHIES are extended to Curt & Judy

 Beadle, Brad, and Autum & Matt upon the death Wednesday of Curt’s

 Father, Bob Beadle at the age of 71. Services for Mr. Beadle were

 held on Saturday at Wesley Park Church.

 his beloved animals on a quest to find forgiveness. Think about a

 special child you would like to invite!

 

Sunday, November 27 A CONGREGATIONAL MEETING will be

 held following the morning worship service. Elections of Elders and

 Deacons will be held and the proposed budget will be presented.

MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

DISCOVERY KIDZ next rotation will begin on November 20! Help is

 needed for cooking, art, games, and theater. Also one shepherd is

 needed. Sign up on the sheet in the narthex, or see Heather.

 

A HAIR DRYER is needed for Jae & Julia. If you have one you would

 like to donate, please see Shari.

 

THE HOLIDAYS ARE FAST APPROACHING! Once again we are

 Providing opportunities for you to help those in need!

  • Participate by buying gifts for the 7th Annual Wyoming Christmas Store. This store is set up for low income
  • families of the neighborhood. Parents are able to purchase gifts for their children at ¼ the cost. See your mailbox for more information.
  • Help by purchasing gifts for the “Being the Hands” program that we are once again setting up at DeVos Children’s Hospital on Wednesday, December 14 We are in need of gifts for older youth and adults. Gifts of any amount are appreciated. Bring these gifts to the office opposite the Chapel. 
  • Holiday Baskets – Would you like to provide a family with a Thanksgiving or Christmas Food Basket? (It is required that you include everything for a dinner for the family, but you can choose to give extras.) You can pick up a form to complete on the table in the narthex, or you can go online www.accessofwestmichigan.org If you need help with this, contact Shari.

We praise and thank God today for Pastor George

and his ministry with the Crossing Community.

 

Congregational Prayers and Praise

Please call the office if you would like to

share a Prayer Request or a Praise Report.

 

  • We pray for the people of our community.
  • We are so thankful today for the many volunteers at Grace.
  • Keep Pat Ter Beek in your prayers as she fights infection and regains her strength following surgery.
  • We pray for strength and encouragement for Ruth VerMerris now residing at Georgetown Manor.
  • We pray for the plans being made for the mission trip to Chiapas….may all the details work out and the fundraisers be successful. 
  • We remember in prayer the following family or friends of our members that are ill or receiving treatments: Dan De Vries, brother of Lisa Braendle; Norm Ver Merris,
  • brother of Shirley De Bruin and brother-in-law of Ruth Ver Merris. 
  • Keep these friends and family serving in the military in your prayers: Amie Pierce, Mitch Dekker, Frank Senko, Adam Simons, Dave Vander Berg.
