ELDERS INVITATION If you have questions, concerns, joys, or

 prayer needs that you would like to share, please see the Pastor or

 an Elder today.  Elders will be greeting at the doors as you leave the

 sanctuary this morning and they are also listed on the back of your

 bulletin.  You may also make a notation on the Fellowship Register.

We joyously welcome you to Grace Reformed Church! Whatever led you to our church today, we believe God rejoices in having you in this place.  Please take a moment and sign your name and address on the Fellowship Register as it is passed today.

 

TODAY AT GRACE

 

9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ will meet.  All kids ages

 3 years – 5th grade meet downstairs by the youth desk.  Our theme for

 November is “We need Jesus to help us guard our hearts”.

 (Philippians 4:8)

 

A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George & Connections, and the needs and vision at

 Grace Reformed Church.

 

THE ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL class will meet in the Consistory

 Room following the morning worship service.  They cover various

 subject matter using the Sunday School Guide.  You are welcome!

 

6:00 PM– For the month of November we will be meeting here at Grace

 for our evening worship service.  Rev. Harvey Hertz will share the

 message.

 

6:45 – 8:00 PM Y-LIFE will meet.

 

PRAYERS AND PRAISE

 

HEALTH CONCERNS –  See the Prayers & Praise Line for all

 prayer requests and praise reports this week.

 

OUR CHRISTIAN SYMPATHIES are extended to Louise Grimm

 upon the death of her brother, Jerry Hommerson on Friday, October

 28 at the age of 79. 

 

IN APPRECIATION - "With the passing of our mom, Ruth Cota, we

 would like to thank the congregation for your cards, prayers and

 kind expressions of sympathy.  Thank you to Pastor Rick for his

 visit, Pastor George for his phone call and Paul Kerkstra for sharing

 in mom's funeral.  Mom went home to Glory and is happy in the

 arms of her Savior." ~Marc and Diane Maitner

 6:00 PM FELLOWSHIP DINNER – Pizza is on the menu.  Come

 and enjoy a time of fellowship prior to classes!

 6:30 PM SENIOR CHOIR PRACTICE. 

 6:45 – 8:00 PM S.O.N.G. (Soldiers of the Next Generation) for

 all kids PreK -8th Grade. Meet with Mrs. Heather in the

 Discovery Kidz area.

 7:00 – 8:00 PM ADULTS

 FORGIVING THOSE WHO HURT US – Class meets in

 the Consistory Room.  This upcoming week we will be studying

 Chapter 6 & 7 in Lewis Smedes' book "The Art of Forgiving –

 When You Need to Forgive and Don't Know How".  We would

 love to have you join us! If you need a book or study guide,

 please let Lorinda know. 

 

NEXT SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 2016

 

NEXT SUNDAY Pastor Rick will continue the series “The Contagious

 Community” with the message:  “Building a Community that Sends: 

 A Missionary People”.

 

DATES TO REMEMBER

 

Thursday, November 24, 9:45 am THANKSGIVING SERVICE

 Our Thanksgiving Day service will be held at Faith Reformed Church

 this year as a part of a continuing effort to join with our sister

 churches for special services and activities.

 

Sunday, November 27 – A CONGREGATIONAL MEETING will be

 held following the morning worship service.  A slate with Elder and

 Deacon Nominees will be presented.  The budget for 2017 will be

 presented and other church business will be discussed.  

 

Sunday, December 4 – COMMUNION SUNDAY

 

Sunday, December 11, 10:00 am – Our DISCOVERY Kidz will present

 their Christmas Program “Shepherds, Sheep, and a Savior”.

 

Sunday, December 18, 10:00 am The SENIOR CHOIR will present

 their Christmas Cantata. 

 

MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

The WYOMING CHRISTMAS STORE will be held here at Grace on

 Saturday, December 3.  This store is set up for low income families of

 the neighborhood.  Parents are able to purchase gifts for their

 children at ¼ the cost.  Take a tag from the Christmas tree on the

 library area.  Look for more information placed in your mailbox. 

 

Help also by purchasing gifts for the “BEING THE HANDS”

program that we are once again setting up at DeVos Children’s Hospital on Tuesday, December 6.  We are in need of gifts for older youth and adults.  Gifts of any amount are appreciated.  Gifts can be brought to the library area by the Christmas tree.  A box will be marked for these gifts.

Prayers & Praise Line

Congregational Prayers and Praise

  • We thank God for this community that we live in. For the kind and generous people that happily donate to those in need.
  • We pray as we work through the process of electing Elders and Deacons to serve on the Consistory.
  • Continue to keep Pastor Rick in your prayers as he leads us.  Pray for wisdom, strength and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
  • We pray today for Heather Dood as she leads the Discovery Kidz downstairs, and the other youth activities that take place during the week.  We pray for The Crossing after school program and the families that participate.
  • We thank God for the ministry of Connections.  We pray for Pastor George as he leads them each week. 
  • We pray for those who have recently lost loved ones.  We pray in particular for Louise Grimm and her family this week.
  • Please be in prayer for Larry Ver Merris, son of Ruth Ver Merris.  Larry has been fighting pancreatic cancer for 6 ½ years (he had 3 years of remission).  He is now at the end of all known treatments.  Please pray for peace for Larry and his family.
  • Please keep our newest missionaries Josh & Allissa Crooks and their newborn baby daughter in your prayers.  We thank and praise God that Jacalyn is doing quite well.  If you are on Facebook, you can follow her page for all the updates: Jacalyn Alizabeth Hayes.
  • Please keep Shirley De Bruin in your prayers as she continues chemo treatments.  We thank God for his faithfulness to Shirley as she goes through treatments. 
  • Please continue to remember our family members who are in need of healing, comfort, and strength.  We pray for Jackie, daughter in law of Roger and Phyllis Vander Sloot;  Mike Stuk, brother of Dan; Betty Parps, mother of Tymie Boeve; Deb Stouten, sister of Pastor Rick; Brent Kerkstra, son of Paul; Janet, sister of Wes Dekker.
  • Pray for our Shut-in’s: Mrs. Tena DeVink, Mrs. Wilma Kamphuis, Mrs. Ruth Ver Merris, Mr. Jim Friar.
