TODAY AT GRACE

9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ MEET.  All children ages 3

 years – 5th Grade meet downstairs by the youth desk. 

 

THE ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS will meet in the

 Consistory Room following the morning service today.  This class

 covers various subject matter pertaining to our Christian walk. 

 

A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George & Connections, and the needs and vision at

 Grace Reformed Church.

 

PRAYERS & PRAISE

HEALTH CONCERNS –  Elaine Martin has been hospitalized this

 past week with an ulcer.  We pray that the meds they are treating it

 with will work.  Sandy Gort will undergo a procedure on Wednesday. 

 Please pray for Sandy as she waits for test results and plans a course

 of treatment.  Ken Wylie underwent shoulder surgery on Thursday at

 Blodgett.  He is expected to be able to have returned to his home.  For

 all other prayer requests and praise reports, see the Prayers & Praise

 Line in your bulletin today.

 

OUR CHRISTIAN SYMPATHIES are extended to Keith and Ann

 Van Zoeren upon the sudden death of their Granddaughter Olivia. 

 Olivia is the daughter of Mary & Dave Veldink.  She was hospitalized

 last Sunday and passed away Tuesday. If anyone wishes to make a donation to the

 AT Children’s Project (Ataxia-Telangiectasia), information is available from the

 office.

Sunday, November 30 – A CONGREGATIONAL MEETING will be

 held following the morning worship service.

 

Sunday, December 14, 10:00 am  - The DISCOVERY KIDZ Christmas

 Program will be held during the morning worship service. 

 

Sunday, December 21, 10:00 am – The SENIOR CHOIR will present

 their CHRISTMAS CANTATA. 

 

MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

THE HOLIDAYS ARE FAST APPROACHING!  Once again we are

 Providing opportunities for you to help those in need!

  • Participate by buying gifts for the Wyoming Christmas Store  here at Grace on Saturday, December 6.  This store is set up for low income families of the neighborhood.  Parents are able to purchase gifts for their children at ¼ the cost.  See your mailbox for more information.
  • Help by purchasing gifts for the “Being the Hands” program that we are once again setting up at DeVos Children’s Hospital on Tuesday, December 9.  We are in need of gifts for older youth and adults.  Gifts of any amount are appreciated.  Gifts can be brought to the library area by the Christmas tree.  A box will be marked for these gifts. 
  • Holiday Giving Network – Volunteers are needed to provide a Christmas or Thanksgiving basket for a family in Kent County.  If interested, sign up at www.accessofwestmichigan.org.

 

DESSERTS NEEDED for Wednesday Night Family Night.  We have a

 lot of kids now and they love dessert!  If you would be willing to

 make a dessert, please see or call Tymie (531-5700).  Thank you!

 

OUR SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of November is designated

 for Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF).  This offering will be received

 on November 30.

 

SNOW SHOVELERS – One or two persons are needed to keep our

 sidewalks clear here at church this winter.  This is a paid position! 

 See John Boeve if you are interested or know someone who might be.

Prayers & Praise Line

Congregational Prayers and Praise

 

  • We thank and praise God today for the abundance in our lives.  For family and friends, for our church home.
  • We thank God for our many volunteers who each week give of their time and talents to further the kingdom of God here at Grace and in the community.
  • We pray for the process of electing new Elders and Deacons.
  • Remember Ken Wylie in your prayers following surgery.
  • Please continue to keep Linda Emelander in your prayers. We pray for encouragement and strength.
  • We pray for Judy Klein after knee surgery.  We pray for her as she begins therapy and heals.
  • We also lift up Roger Vander Sloot following knee surgery.  We thank God that he did so well and continue to pray for his recovery.
  • We remember Elaine Martin in our prayers.
  • Please pray for Sandy Gort as she undergoes a procedure on Wednesday.
  • We pray for those who are mourning the loss of a loved one today.  In particular we pray for the family of Olivia Veldink.  May they feel the peace and comfort that can only come from God.
  • We continue to lift up Earl & Clare Reifel and the people they serve in West Africa as they battle the effects of the Ebola crisis there.
  • Continue to keep Lola De Young in your prayers.  She has now begun radiation and continues to fight cancer.
  • We pray for all those who are serving in the military.  In particular we pray for Amie Pierce serving in Kuwait.
  • Pray for our Shut-in’s: Mr. Ralph Bolt, Mrs Tena DeVink,

Mrs. Wilma Kamphuis, Mrs Ruth Ver Merris.

  • NEIGHBORHOOD CHURCH MINISTRIES is encouraging the community of churches in Wyoming to lift one another up in prayer.  This week we pray for the Woodview Christian Church.  Let’s join together in this community effort.

 

As other prayers are shared, you are invited to write them down and include them in your prayers for our congregation this week. Please keep the church informed of your prayer needs and praise reports.
