PRAYERS & PRAISE
HEALTH CONCERNS – Ruth Postema continues to be a patient at
Blodgett Hospital. Al Grimm was able to return to his home on
Tuesday. See the Prayers & Praise Line for all the other praise
reports and prayer concerns.
IN APPRECIATION – The Very Important Volunteer Award for
September goes to Lynda Ver Merris. She has taken the time to
arrange all of the crafts for the Sunday School activities for the
year. All of the Sunday School volunteers appreciate her doing this,
as with time constraints and full time jobs, this would not be
possible for teachers to set up. Even in the midst of the loss of a
family member, Casey Ver Merris, she still showed dedication in her
commitments to lead Children & Worship and provide the supplies
to the Sunday School classes. Thanks Lynda! Keep up the good
work! ~Darrell Delaney
Dear Church Family, We thank you for the prayers and concerns
during this last crisis! I am now home, a little on the weak side,
however I have great expectations in regaining my strength.
Thanks again! ~Ade Peterson

October/November months. If you would be willing to help in

in 2 months for an hour each!!
COMMUNITY DAYS at Younkers, Saturday, November 10 beginning at
6:00 am! Our youth are selling coupon books for $5.00. These
booklets contain a $10.00 coupon off an item selling for $10.00 or
more and 8 coupons worth 20% off sale or regular priced items. The
$5.00 cost of these coupon books goes entirely to our youth
group. This is a great opportunity to raise funds for our fall
activities! See Darrell or one of our youth. Thank you!!
HOLIDAY BASKETS – Beginning October 1st through November 30,
ACCESS expects over 7,000 households to register for a Holiday
Basket to help stretch the family budget. Many families are
struggling with the loss of jobs, high gas prices and can’t make ends
meet. You can help! Please contact ACCESS soon if you can provide
a Thanksgiving or Christmas basket - or both. For more information
or to sign up, go to the ACCESS web site at
or call the office at 774-2175. If you have any questions, see Shari.
PRAYER PARTNERS NEEDED! This is the last opportunity to sign up to
be a Prayer Partner to one of our Missionaries. We have 11 persons
who need our specific prayers. The goal is to have 10 persons for
each missionary. You will receive in your mailbox any
correspondence that comes into the office! It is really interesting to
hear what is happening in these various countries, and the
missionaries are so grateful for your prayers.
BIKES NEEDED – The Kent County area will be host to a number of
refugees from Burma and they are in need of bikes. Perhaps you
have a bike that you don’t care to put back into storage and you
would like to donate it to a good cause! Needed are adult bikes
(many of the refugees are of small stature, so 24 inch frames would
work well). Call the church office (538-3100) if you can help.
ADOPT A GEM – Our GEMS will be up for adoption TODAY! Here is
your chance to “buy” a GEM for $20.00 (which will pay for their
book and special projects). Then you can connect with your GEM
through cards, notes, prayers……A great way to get to know a special
young lady at Grace!
GRACE GEMS are gathering items for Operation Shoebox -- personal
hygiene products, small toys, calculators, pens/pencils, hard candy;
shoeboxes, and Christmas wrapping paper. The GEMS will be
stuffing and wrapping boxes Wednesday, November 7th.

donated to Habitat for Humanity as a deconstruction project.
