Prayers & Praise Line

October 1, 2017

O Redeemer God, as we gather in worship on this World Wide Communion Sunday, we ask that you send your Holy Spirit to fall afresh on us. We pray for your Spirit to awaken new hope in us. Grant us the vision to see the coming of your kingdom. Help us to celebrate the glimpses of grace that you have given to each of us. Knit our hearts together in worship and communion so that we know we do not struggle alone in working for your peace and justice. We pray this in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Congregational Prayers and Praise

  • We pray for all the victims of the recent hurricanes and earthquakes.  May they feel God’s presence and love now and in the days ahead.
  • Please pray for the Holy Spirit’s presence and guidance as Pastor Rick and Donna and all of us go through these days of transition.
  • We pray for Heather as she prepares for Discovery Kidz sessions, fall events, and her final exams as she works toward becoming a Commissioned Pastor.
  • Please pray for Pastor George and Connections and for the youth and adults that attend each week.  We pray for them as they continue to grow and expand. We remember them in prayer as they have begun meeting for a Sunday worship service in the Chapel at Grace.
  • Please pray for the Transition team as they continue their work.  Also for the Search Committee as they are forming a team to look for a new pastor.
  • Keep Rev. Al Schreuder in your prayers as he was recently diagnosed with ALS. We pray for peace and understanding.  If you would like to send a card, the address is:  1511 Main St., Pella, IA  50219.  A copy of his recent email to us is on the narthex table for more information.
  • Continuing prayers for Lucille Sytsema, Bill Ver Hulst, Jerry Hendrickson.
  • Please continue to remember our Grace members and members of their families who are in need of healing, comfort, and strength.  Esther Hoag; Char Otto; Shirley De Bruin; Brent Kerkstra, son of Paul;  Janet, sister of Wes Dekker; Lana, granddaughter of Ken & Cindy Wylie; Amee, daughter of Dick & Ruth Locke; Matthew Marshall, brother of Rick Marshall; Mel & Virgil Vander Sloot, brothers of Roger Vander Sloot; Jonathan and Robbie Stouten, nephews  of Pastor Rick; and Tom Cook and his family.
