TODAY AT GRACE

 

9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ MEET. All children ages 3

 years – 5th Grade meet downstairs by the youth desk. This week we

 will begin practice for the Christmas Program. Practice will

 also be held on Wednesday nights at approximately 6:45 pm followed

 by their regular Wednesday activity. Mark your calendar…The 

 Christmas Program “Signs of Christmas” will take place on

 December 15 during the morning worship service.

 

ELDERS INVITATION If you have questions, concerns, joys, or

 prayer needs that you would like to share, please see the Pastor or

 an Elder today. Elders will be greeting at the doors as you leave the

 sanctuary this morning and they are also listed on the back of your

 bulletin. You may also make a notation on the Fellowship Register.

 

THE ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL GUIDE CLASS will meet in

 the Consistory Room following the morning service today. This class

 covers various subject matter pertaining to our Christian walk. 

 

A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George and Connections.

 

6:45 – 8 PM Y-Life will meet at the Crossing.

 

PRAYERS & PRAISE

 

HEALTH CONCERNS – Marge Veldheer was able to return to her

 home following knee replacement surgery. Luke Dieffenbach,

 father of Juel Grevenstuk, is now at St. Mary’s recovering from

 pneumonia. Please keep Marge and Luke in your prayers as well as

 their families as they care for them. For all other prayer requests and

 praise reports, See the Prayers & Praise Line in your bulletin.

 

OUR CHRISTIAN SYMPATHIES are extended to Wes & Linda

 Lowing and family including Kayleigh & Jacob Wohlgemuth, upon

 the death of Linda’s mom, Marjorie Van Drunen, on Sunday, October

 13 at the age of 88. Services were held Friday at Corinth Reformed

 Church.

 

PASTOR RICK will be on study leave this upcoming week. If a need

 arises, please call your Elder, Caring Shepherd, or call the office and

 we will contact them for you.

 The Old Testament Tabernacle – This class is studying 

 the symbolism, typology, prophecies, and imagery of the

 tabernacle. Wes Dekker leads this class in the Consistory room.

 Understanding Your Bible – will not meet this week!

NEXT WEEK Pastor George Grevenstuk will lead our morning service

 and share the message. 

 

6:30 PM You are invited to join the congregation of Parkwood

 Presbyterian Church in Jenison for a Hymn Fest using “Lift Up Your

 Hearts”, a new hymnbook recently published by the Reformed

 Church and Christian Reformed Churches together. Lorinda

 Vander Werp is the music director at Parkwood and is putting

 together this great evening of music. This will take the place of our

 service at Grace.

Sunday, November 24 – A CONGREGATIONAL MEETING will be

 held following the morning worship service.

 

MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

'BELONGING' NEW MEMBER CLASS - There will be a new

 members class beginning on Wednesday, November 6. The class

 usually has 6 sessions. You can be part of this class even if you do not

 want to become a member at this time....the class will enable you to

 become a member but it will not obligate you to do so. If you have

 any questions, call Shari Dood at 538-7498. 

 

THE SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of October is designated

 for CLUB 3:16. This offering will be received on October 27.

 

COLLECTION OF WINTER WEAR – For the month of October we

 will be collecting winter gloves and hats for the children in need that

 attend Parkview Elementary School. Thank you to all who have

 already donated! **There is a special need for water proof gloves

 Please especially be on the lookout for these.

ACCESS HOLIDAY GIVING NETWORK is once again asking for

 volunteers to provide a Christmas or Thanksgiving basket for a family

 in Kent County. You will be matched with a family in our area that is

 in need of holiday dinner food items. If interested, sign up at

 www.accessofwestmichigan.org. Questions or need more

Congregational Prayers and Praise

  • We praise and thank God today that He is always available. That we can have a constant communication with Him in prayer.
  • We thank God today for Pastor Rick. We pray for him as he spends time away on study leave. We pray for continued blessings in his life and ministry.
  • Please pray for the process of electing new Elders and Deacons. We pray today for our Consistory. We are thankful for their time and service. 
  • We pray for the plans that are being made to host an Alpha Class here at Grace. We pray for Rowin & Rachel Mulder as they lead this process. 
  • Keep Marge Veldheer in your prayers as she recovers from knee surgery and begins rehab.
  • Please pray for Luke Dieffenbach in St. Mary's as he recovers from pneumonia and prepares to return to Mary Free Bed for continued rehabilitation.
  • Please pray for Shawn Keener who is battling cancer. Shawn has begun her stem-cell transplant at Spectrum in is now in isolation. Continue to be in prayer for Lola De Young and her parents, Matt & Lindsey. 
  • Continue to keep Amie Pierce in your prayers as she is stationed at Fort Riley in Kansas. If you would like to send a card or package, her address is 7001 Normandy Dr., PO Box 17, Ft. Riley, KS 66442.
