TODAY AT GRACE

 

TODAY we welcome Fred McGary as our new church Caretaker.  He

 will greet us in the service today.  Please welcome Fred and keep him

 in your prayers!

 

9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ will meet.  All kids ages

 3 years – 5th grade meet downstairs by the youth desk.  Our theme for

 October is “Use words to build people up, not tear people down”.

 (James 3:3-12)

 

A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George & Connections, and the needs and vision at

 Grace Reformed Church.

 

THE ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS will meet in the

 Consistory Room following the morning worship service.  They cover

 various subject matter using the Sunday School Guide.  You are

 welcome to join them!

 

6:00 PM JOINT EVENING WORSHIP – For the month of

 October we will be meeting at FAITH Reformed Church

 (618 32nd St SW, Wyoming) for our evening service.  Rev. Harvey

 Hertz will share the message.

NEXT SUNDAY Pastor Rick will continue the series “The Contagious

 Community” with the message:  “Building a Community that Encourages: 

 A Barnabas People”.

 

Our SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of October is designated for

 ACCESS.  This offering will be received next Sunday.

HEALTH CONCERNS –  See the Prayers & Praise Line for all

 prayer requests and praise reports.

 

OUR CHRISTIAN SYMPATHIES are extended to Marc & Diane

 Maitner upon the death of her mother, Ruth Cota, on Monday,

 October 17 at the age of 91.  Services were held on Friday with Rev.

 Ken Van Wyk officiating.

 

IN APPRECIATION - Connections wants to say thank you! Our

 prayers were answered and we were gifted with a wonderful used

 upright freezer and another gift that allowed us to purchase 2

 additional new freezers and have the old chest freezer removed.

 All  our frozen food storage is secure and efficiently frozen.

 Our Thanksgiving Day service will be held at Faith Reformed Church this

 year as a part of a continuing effort to join with our sister churches for 

 special services and activities.

 

Sunday, November 27 – A CONGREGATIONAL MEETING will be

 held following the morning worship service.  A slate with Elder and

 Deacon Nominees will be presented.  The budget for 2017 will be

 presented and other church business will be discussed. 

 

Sunday, December 4 – COMMUNION SUNDAY

 

Sunday, December 11, 10:00 am – Our DISCOVERY Kidz will present

 their Christmas Program “Shepherds, Sheep, and a Savior”.

 

Sunday, December 18, 10:00 am The SENIOR CHOIR will present

 their Christmas Cantata.

 

MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

FAMILY NETWORK OF WYOMING is in need of the following:

 Toilet Paper, Toothpaste , Toothbrushes, Hand Soap, Lotion,

 Shampoo, Hair Care (Hair Spray/Conditioner), Deodorant (also

 Men’s Shampoo and Deodorant).  We will continue to collect for

Congregational Prayers and Praise

 

  • We thank and praise God today for his love.  We thank God for friends and family that mean so much to us.
  • We are thankful today to God for blessing us with Pastor Rick who models Christ’s love for us as we go through all of life’s circumstances. 
  • We are thankful today for our teachers & volunteers….those who show God’s love to our children and others in our church family as well as our neighborhood.
  • We pray as we work through the process of electing Elders and Deacons to serve on the Consistory. 
  • Please pray for our staff here at Grace.  Pray for Pastor Rick, Heather Dood, Paul Kerkstra, Lorinda Vander Werp and Sue Stuk.
  • We pray for Pastor George and Connections and for the youth and adults that attend each week.
  • Please keep our newest missionaries Josh & Allissa Crooks and their newborn baby daughter in your prayers.  Allisa delivered 7 weeks early. Jacalyn was born with a deformed heart. Please pray for Josh and Allisa as they have been transferred to a hospital that is specialized in helping their daughter.   • Keep Emily Mc Elroy in your prayers as she goes through this difficult time.  We pray that her foot heals quickly.
  • Lift up Mary Huizinga in your prayers as she is at Brookcrest for a time of healing.
  • Please keep Shirley De Bruin in your prayers as she continues chemo treatments.  We thank God for his faithfulness to Shirley as she goes through treatments.
