ELDERS INVITATION If you have questions, concerns, joys, or

 prayer needs that you would like to share, please see the Pastor or

 an Elder today. Elders will be greeting at the doors as you leave the

 sanctuary this morning and they are also listed on the back of your

 bulletin. You may also make a notation on the Fellowship Register.

We joyously welcome you to Grace today! Whatever

led you to our church today, we believe God rejoices in having you in this place.

TODAY AT GRACE

9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ MEET. All children ages 3

 years – 5th Grade meet downstairs by the youth desk. Discovery Kidz

 have begun practice for the Christmas Program. Practice will

 also be held on Wednesday nights at approximately 6:45 pm followed

 by their regular Wednesday activity. Mark your calendar…The 

 Christmas Program “Signs of Christmas” will take place on

 December 15 during the morning worship service.

 

THE SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of October is designated

 for CLUB 3:16. This offering will be received this morning.

 

THE ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL GUIDE CLASS will meet in

 the Consistory Room following the morning service today. This class

 covers various subject matter pertaining to our Christian walk. 

 

A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George and Connections.

 

6:30 PM You are invited to join the congregation of Parkwood

 Presbyterian Church (7998 – 28th Ave, Jenison) for a Hymn Fest

 using “Lift Up Your Hearts”, a new hymnbook recently published by 

 the Reformed Church and Christian Reformed Churches together. 

 Lorinda Vander Werp is the music director at Parkwood and is

 putting together this great evening of music. This will take the place

 of our service at Grace. Maps are available on the narthex table.

 

PRAYERS & PRAISE

HEALTH CONCERNS – Phyllis Vander Sloot is doing well and was

 able to return to her home after being hospitalized last week. Luke

 Dieffenbach was expected to be transferred back to Mary Free Bed. 

 He is still weak, but gaining strength. Please continue to keep him

 in your prayers. For all other prayer requests and praise reports, see

 the Prayers & Praise Line in your bulletin.

 

IN APPRECIATION – Thank you to everyone for the phone calls,

 visits and cards that we received as we said good bye to Marjorie

 Van Drunen, our mom, grandmother, and great grandmother.

 beginning at 5:30 for volunteers. Please enter through the

Please pray that this event will be a success and that we will have the opportunity to meet some new neighbors, meet the families of our Club kids, and have the opportunity to make new friends.

 6:30 PM SENIOR CHOIR PRACTICE. 

 7:00 – 8:00 PM The Old Testament Tabernacle – This adult

 class is studying the symbolism, typology, prophecies, and

 imagery of the tabernacle. Wes Dekker leads this class in the

 Consistory room.

 

NEXT WEEK, NOVEMBER 3, 2013

 

NEXT WEEK Pastor Rick will share the message “ONE WITH THEM”

 We will share with churches around the world as we pray for

 persecuted Christians on INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER. 

 

6:00 PM - For our evening service, our sister RCA Churches will join us

 here at Grace for a Reformation Service. 

 

6:45 – 8 PM Y-Life will meet at the Crossing.

 reservations! Please be at Grace at 5:30 pm. See Ms. Heather if you

Sunday, November 24 – A CONGREGATIONAL MEETING will be

 held following the morning worship service.

 

MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

DISCOVERY KIDZ NEED VOLUNTEERS for the November

 Rotation. Help is needed for Art, Games, Science, and Shepherds. 

 Please sign up TODAY on the sheet in the narthex.

 

'BELONGING' NEW MEMBER CLASS - There will be a new

 members class beginning on Wednesday, November 6. The class

 usually has 6 sessions. You can be part of this class even if you do not

 want to become a member at this time....the class will enable you to

 become a member but it will not obligate you to do so. If you have

 any questions, call Shari Dood at 538-7498. 

 

GALAXY – The next Galaxy is due out on November 3. If you have

 articles you wish to submit, please do so by Wednesday, October 31. 

 You may leave them in the bin attached to the file cabinet in the office

 or give to Sandy Gort or Pat Ter Beek.

 

COLLECTION OF WINTER WEAR – Thank you to all those who

 donated winter wear for the Parkview Children. If you still would like

 to bring in hats or gloves, just bring them to the church office. 

 

ACCESS HOLIDAY GIVING NETWORK is once again asking for

 volunteers to provide a Christmas or Thanksgiving basket for a family

 in Kent County. If interested, sign up at www.accessofwestmichigan.org

Prayers & Praise Line

October 27, 2013

Congregational Prayers and Praise

  • We praise and thank God today that He is always available. That we can have a constant communication with Him in prayer.
  • We thank God today for Pastor George. We pray for continued blessings on his ministry and on Connections. 
  • Please pray for the process of electing new Elders and Deacons. We pray today for our Consistory. We are thankful for their time and service. 
  • We pray for the plans that are being made to host an Alpha Class here at Grace in January. We pray for Rowin & Rachel Mulder as they lead this process. 
  • We pray today for those who have recently lost loved ones. In particular we pray today for the Koster family following the passing of Phil’s grandmother. We also remember the Lowing and Wohlgemuth families.
  • Keep Marge Veldheer in your prayers as she recovers from knee surgery.
  • Please pray for Luke Dieffenbach back at Mary Free Bed. Pray for increased strength and patience. 
  • Thank you for the many answered prayers for Shawn Keener. She is doing well and was able to go home a week early following the stem-cell transplant. Please continue to keep her in your prayers.
  • Continue to be in prayer for Lola De Young and her parents, Matt & Lindsey. 
  • Continue to keep Amie Pierce in your prayers as she is stationed at Fort Riley in Kansas. 
  • Pray for our Shut-in’s: Mr. Ralph Bolt, Mrs Tena DeVink, Mrs. Jane Duthler, Mrs. Wilma Kamphuis, Mrs Miriam Schrotenboer, Mrs Ruth Ver Merris.

As other prayers are shared, you are invited to write them down and include them in your prayers for our congregation this week. Please keep the church informed of your prayer needs and praise reports!
