TODAY AT GRACE

9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ will meet.  All kids ages

 3 years – 5th grade meet downstairs by the youth desk.  Our theme for

 October is “Use words to build people up, not tear people down”.

 (James 3:3-12)

 

Our SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of October is designated for

 ACCESS.  This offering will be received next Sunday. 

 

A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George & Connections, and the needs and vision at

 Grace Reformed Church.

 

THE ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL class will meet in the Consistory

 Room following the morning worship service.  They cover various

 subject matter using the Sunday School Guide.  You are welcome!

 

5:00 PM REFORMATION DAY WORSHIP SERVICE – You are

 invited to join with the RCA and CRC of Wyoming for our annual

 Reformation Day service.  It will be held at Lee Street CRC, 1261 Lee

 Street, Wyoming.  Note the 5:00 pm start time!

 

PRAYERS AND PRAISE

HEALTH CONCERNS –  See the Prayers & Praise Line for all

 prayer requests and praise reports this week.

 

IN APPRECIATION - Thank you to everyone that donated candy,

 decorated tables/handed out candy, set-up and take down crew,

 and kitchen crew! Wednesday night we were able to welcome at

 best guess 1200 people through our doors. These past two events

 have proven we have a great community not only inside our walls

 but outside our doors at Grace. We are putting ourselves out for the

 community and I couldn't do it without all your support! Thank you

 6:00 PM FELLOWSHIP DINNER – Tacos are on the menu.  Come

 and enjoy a time of fellowship prior to classes!

 6:30 PM SENIOR CHOIR PRACTICE. 

 6:45 – 8:00 PM GEMS (Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior) for

 girls in  grades K – 8th.  Meet in the Choir Room.

 FORGIVING THOSE WHO HURT US – Class meets in

 the Consistory Room.  This upcoming week we will be studying

 Chapter #5 in Lewis Smedes’ book “The Art of Forgiving – When

 the Consistory Room.  They will be studying the book of

NEXT SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 2016

 

NEXT SUNDAY Pastor Rick will continue the series “The Contagious

 Community” with the message:  “Building a Community that Serves: 

 A Concerned People”.

Thursday, November 24, 9:45 am THANKSGIVING SERVICE

 Our Thanksgiving Day service will be held at Faith Reformed Church this

 year as a part of a continuing effort to join with our sister churches for 

 special services and activities.

 

Sunday, November 27 – A CONGREGATIONAL MEETING will be

 held following the morning worship service.  A slate with Elder and

 Deacon Nominees will be presented.  The budget for 2017 will be

 presented and other church business will be discussed. 

 

Sunday, December 4 – COMMUNION SUNDAY

 

Sunday, December 11, 10:00 am – Our DISCOVERY Kidz will present

 their Christmas Program “Shepherds, Sheep, and a Savior”.

 

Sunday, December 18, 10:00 am The SENIOR CHOIR will present

 their Christmas Cantata.

Congregational Prayers and Praise

  • We pray today for Pastor Rick and Donna.  We are thankful for their service to, and love for, our Grace family.
  • We thank God today and pray for the many families that walked through our doors on Wednesday for Trunk or Treat. 
  • We are thankful for our teachers & volunteers….those who show God’s love to our children and others in our church family as well as our neighborhood.
  • We pray as we work through the process of electing Elders and Deacons to serve on the Consistory.
  • We lift up Heather Dood as she continues caring for and teaching our children.  We pray for her as she continues classes and juggles her very busy schedule.
  • We pray for Pastor George and Connections and for the youth and adults that attend each week.
  • Please keep our newest missionaries Josh & Allissa Crooks and their newborn baby daughter in your prayers.  Allissa delivered 7 weeks early. Jacalyn was born with a deformed heart and has already undergone a couple surgeries. We thank and praise God that Jacalyn is doing quite well.  If you are on Facebook, you can follow her page for all the updates: Jacalyn Alizabeth Hayes.
  • We are thankful today that Mary Huizinga was able to return to her home!  Please continue to keep her in your prayers as she regains her strength.
  • Please keep Shirley De Bruin in your prayers as she continues chemo treatments.  We thank God for his faithfulness to Shirley as she goes through treatments. 
  • Please continue to remember our family members who are in need of healing, comfort, and strength.  We pray for Jackie, daughter in law of Roger and Phyllis Vander Sloot;  Mike Stuk, brother of Dan; Betty Parps, mother of Tymie Boeve; Deb Stouten, sister of Pastor Rick; Brent Kerkstra, son of Paul; Janet, sister of Wes Dekker.
  • Pray for our Shut-in’s: Mrs. Tena DeVink, Mrs. Wilma Kamphuis, Mrs. Ruth Ver Merris, Mr. Jim Friar.
