World Communion Community Service

Welcome!

It is good that as brothers and sisters in Christ and fellow members of the Reformed Church in America that we can gather together in this service to worship and to celebrate the Lord’s Supper.  Congregations participating in the service are:

HEALTH CONCERNS – See the Prayer and Praise Line for all the
prayer requests and praise reports.

OUR CHRISTIAN SYMPATHIES are extended to Mac & Mary
Mc Alary upon the death of Mac’s brother, Ralph McAlary, on
Tuesday, September 28 at the age of 84. Services were held on
Thursday at the Grand Rapids Home for the Veterans Chapel.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT LIVE
6:00 PM FELLOWSHIP DINNER – Pizza & Ice Cream!
6:30 PM SENIOR CHOIR will meet.
6:45 – 8:00 PM
GEMS for girls in grades K – 8 meet at the Crossing.
CADETS for boys in grades 1 – 8 meet in the choir room.
B.I.G. CREW for preschool children will meet in the nursery.
7:00 – 8:00 PM ADULT CLASS will meet in the Consistory
Room. The DVD that goes along with our Sunday Sermon
Series will be shown, followed by discussion.
THE NEW MEMBERS CLASS will meet in the room
opposite the chapel on the south side of the church. If you have

2:45 – 5:00 PM CLUB 3:16 for Grades 7 & 8
7:00 PM THURSDAY BIBLE STUDY GROUP meets at the
Crossing. We will meet the first Thursday of each month!

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 9, 2010
9:00 AM COUNTY WIDE FOOD DRIVE – We will begin with a
Praise Rally in the sanctuary. Sign up in the narthex if you can
help. See Shari if you have any questions.
5:00 – 7:00 PM PUMPKIN PATH AT LAMAR PARK – Bring
your children or grandchildren out in costume for a fun and
safe trick or treating activity. Our Discovery Kidz will host a
booth to hand out candy and church info to the kids.
HELP IS STILL NEEDED! Someone is needed to help haul our
sign from church to Lamar Park, someone with a trailer would
be great! There is still room for helpers to hand out the candy.
ALSO WE STILL NEED CANDY…LOTS OF IT! They are
expecting 3000 kids! You can bring your candy donations
tonight to church or Wednesday night. Contact Heather or
call the church office if you have any questions!
 

 NEXT SUNDAY, OCTOBER 10, 2010

BECOMING A GOOD SAMARITAN” with the message:
“SEEKING JUSTICE AND RECONCILLIATION”.

NEW PICTURE DIRECTORIES are in the works!! Pictures will be
taken here at church on Sunday, Oct. 24 and November 7 from
9:00 – 9:45 am and from 11:30 – Noon, and on Wednesdays,
October 13 & October 27 from 6:45 pm – 8:00 pm. If anyone has a
recent photo they would like to submit instead of having another
picture taken they may do so via email, memory card, cd , flash stick
or we can scan it to the computer. SIGN UP FOR YOUR SPOT
TODAY in the narthex!

We Pray and Trust God
This is the season for harvest. Ask God to make you more aware of the spiritual harvest and that you may be a willing laborer.

 We pray today for our Christian brothers and sisters around the world celebrating the Lord’s Supper.
 We thank God for the freedom we have in this country to worship our Great God.
 We thank and praise God for our friends. May we be good friends to those in need as well.
 We pray for those participating the County Wide Food drive this week.
 We thank God for this community we live in. For the many kind and compassionate persons who give of their time and talents to help those in need.
 We pray for Sheila Mc Elroy as she undergoes further testing.
 Pray this week for Jim Herrema and Fay De Jong as they continue rehab.
 We think today of Lucille Sytsema. Pray for encouragement and strength.
 Remember John De Jong as he continues his chemotherapy treatments.
 Pray for all those who have recently lost loved ones. In particular we pray for the Mc Alary family today.
 Please pray for Connie Maile, sister of Jim Emelander, who is battling cancer.
 Keep these friends and family serving in the military in your prayers: Amie Pierce, Doug Desmarais, Frank Senko,
