TODAY AT GRACE

 

9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ for kids ages 3 years – 5th

 grade meets downstairs by the youth desk. 

 

TODAY Pastor Rick will begin a new series of messages “First Love”.

 See the insert in your bulletin for details.

 

THE TRANSITION TEAM will meet in the Chapel following the

 service this morning.

 

THE ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL GUIDE CLASS will meet in the

 Consistory Room after the morning service. They cover various

 matters using the Sunday School Guide.  You are welcome to join in!

 

PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George & Connections, and the needs and vision at

 Grace Reformed Church.

 

SUNDAYS AT SIX – We will be meeting with our sister churches

 tonight at Faith Reformed.  Pastor Rick will share the message:

 “GET IT RIGHT:  ROMANS”. 

 

6:00 – 8:00 PM Y-LIFE will kick off the year!  Meet at the Crossing

 and come hungry!

 

PRAYERS AND PRAISE

 

HEALTH CONCERNS:  Lucille Sytsema underwent knee

 replacement surgery Thursday, September 7 at Metro Hospital. 

 Please keep her in your prayers as she begins the healing process and

 therapy.  For all other praise reports and prayer concerns, see the

 prayers and praise line in your bulletin today.

 A time for handing in permission forms and getting to know

 each other.  Regular sessions begin September 20.

 6:30 PM CHOIR PRACTICE.  Now is a good time to join the

 choir!  Everyone is invited!

 

NEXT WEEK, SEPTEMBER 17, 2017

 

NEXT SUNDAY – Pastor Rick will share the message “First Love

 Creates Renewed Rejoicing”.  We will meet at Faith Reformed Church

 for our 6:00 pm evening service.

Tuesday, September 19, 1:00 pm THE ELIZABETH CIRCLE will

 meet in the Consistory room.  We will study Lesson 6 (Joel) in our

 study book.  All women are welcome.

 

Wednesday, September 20, 6:00 pm WEDNESDAY NIGHT LIVE

 BEGINS!  Also this will be the first day for our afterschool program

 at the Crossing. 

 

Saturday, October 7 FALL FAMILY EVENT!  This is for our church

 family and the neighborhood.  Cran Hill will be here with the rock

 wall, Critter Barn, balloon creations, pig roast!  Lots of fun activities!

MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

GRACE SENIORS - FALL DINNER AT CRAN HILL RANCH

 Would you like to join together and take a day trip to Cran Hill Ranch

 to enjoy beautiful fall colors, lunch, live entertainment, wagon rides,

 games and excellent company??  This will take place on Tuesday

 October 3.  Cost is $15.00 per person.  We can take the Grace van. 

 If you are interested, sign up on the narthex table TODAY

 information. 

 

A SEARCH COMMITTEE assigned to look for a new Pastor for Grace

 is being formed.  Please see or call (915-2577) John Sawyer if you

 would be interested in being a part of this committee.

 

THE SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of September is designated

 for the GIDEONS.  This offering will be received September 24. 

 

WOMEN’S MINISTRY – Add your name and email address to the list

 on the narthex table if you would like to be a part of this new and

 exciting opportunity for Bible study, activities, and so much more!

 

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED for Fall Activities!  Below are some areas

 you could be of help!

  • Discovery Kidz – Leaders and Shepherds are needed.  Sign up sheets through December are on the narthex table. 
  •  The Crossing Wednesday afternoon – Back up Van Driver and one more volunteer still needed.
  • Wednesday Night Kitchen Crew – Thankful for the volunteers that signed up!  The more the merrier, so if you would be available, sign up on the list!
  • Victors – 2 male helpers needed on Wednesday nights.

Congregational Prayers and Praise

 

Thank You Lord for the beginning of a new season. Lord we pray that You would be with us.. leading and guiding us.. teaching and drawing us ever closer to each other and to Yourself. Thank You that Your steadfast love never ceases and that Your mercies are new every morning – great is Your faithfulness O Lord. 

  • Please pray for the Holy Spirit’s presence and guidance as Pastor Rick and Donna and all of us go through these days of transition. 
  • We pray for Heather as she prepares for Discovery Kidz sessions, fall events, and her final exams as she works toward becoming a Commissioned Pastor.
  • We pray for Pastor George and Connections. We pray for the youth and adults that attend each week.  We pray for them as they continue to grow and expand and begin a Sunday worship service in the Chapel.
  • Please pray for the Transition team as they continue their work.  Also for the Search Committee as they are forming a team to look for a new pastor.
  • We pray for Lucille Sytsema following her knee replacement surgery.
  • Remember Brent Kerkstra in your prayers as he has been hospitalized again this week. 
  • Continuing prayers for Bill Ver Hulst, Jerry Hendrickson, and Ken Wylie.
