Welcome
 We are excited to have each of you here today on the special
 CONNECTION SUNDAY!  Following a time of worship in the sanctuary
 together, we will go downstairs to the Fellowship Hall to become
 “connected” to a purpose group!  After about 10 minutes of mingling and
 getting refreshments, you will sit down at a table which will be the small
 group that you will become a part of during the 40 Days of Purpose! Here
 you will become acquainted with your host home leader and they will
 introduce you to the materials. Note:  The times and places for the small
 groups are listed in the bulletin today. 
 
 CHILDREN & YOUTH - following Pastor Rick’s message, when the adults
 go to the Fellowship Hall:
· Children 3 years and under will be cared for in the nursery.
· Children who are Pre-School and above are asked to meet in the choir room. 
 We will take you to the Crossing where there will be snacks and activities
 available.
· MS & HS students are welcome to come to the Crossing and assist Keith and
 Cindy with the children.

TODAY AT GRACE
ELDERS INVITATION - If you have questions, concerns, joys, or prayer needs
 that you would like to share, an Elder will be available in the front of the
 sanctuary following The Connection this morning.
 
SUNDAY SCHOOL GUIDE CLASS will meet in the Consistory Room during the
 Sunday School hour.
 
 THE SUNDAY PRAYER GROUP will meet in Pastor Rick’s office following the
 morning service.
 
5:00 PM !INDEED! HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH GROUP KICK OFF! 
 Meet at the Crossing. We will spend the evening at Holland State Park,
 returning at approximately 9:30 pm.
 
6:00 PM - Tonight Pastor Rick will begin a new series of messages based on
 Mark 1-8 entitled “The Servant Who Rules”. Join us in the Chapel as
 Pastor Rick shares the message with discussion following.  See the insert
 in the bulletin today with the details.

PRAYERS & PRAISE
 
HEALTH CONCERNS – Al Grimm underwent back surgery on Thursday at
 Butterworth.  Margaret Zylstra is at Brookcrest after taking a fall.  See
 the Prayers & Praise insert for the other concerns of our Grace family.
 
IN APPRECIATION – We would like to thank our Grace family for the
 prayers, cards, and other kindness shown following Tena’s
 hospitalization and now during her rehabilitation.  A special thank
 you to Pastor Rick for his visits.  We really appreciate it!

NEXT SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, 2005
 
NEXT SUNDAY our Sunday School and Children & Worship activities will
 begin!  A new adult Sunday School class will be offered Grace and the
 New  Millennium”, end times prophecy through Calvinist eyes.  The
 fall series will cover Revelation 1-8.  Brad Class will lead this class.
9:15 AM SPECIAL ELDERS MEETING.
 
6:00 PM – Murray & Carol Moerman will be with us and share their
 experiences with Outreach Canada. 
 
SPECIAL DATES TO REMEMBER
 
 
Saturday, September 24, 9:00 am KICK OFF to the 40 DAYS OF PURPOSE!
 Following the meeting, the youth will hold a CAR WASH AND HOT DOG
 LUNCH in the parking lot!

MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS
 
CROSSING OUTREACH DIRECTOR – A Search Committee is being formed to
 search for a person to fill the position of Crossing Outreach Director.  If
 you would be interested in being considered for a position on this
 committee, please contact Pastor Rick.
 
CHILDREN & WORSHIP will begin next Sunday!  If you would be interested in
 helping, please call Sandy Farris at 534-8670.  There are many ways you
 can help:  story leaders, worship/praise leaders, helpers, story assistants
 or youth helpers.
 
MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS (Continued)
 
HURRICANE KATRINA RELIEF FUND – Grace will have a special offering for the
 hurricane victims on Sunday, October 2nd.  Our offering will go to
 Reformed Church World Service.
 
THE SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of September is designated for DEGAGE
 MINISTRIES.  This offering will be received on September 25th.
 
PASTOR TODD BUSH AND NEW LIFE COMMUNITY CHURCH will kickoff their
 fall season on September 18th.  They are asking if any of you would be
 willing to come and help on that day.  You would not be responsible for
 anything in particular…rather you would be available to help where they
 need you.  Please sign up in the narthex or call Shari if interested.
 
CHRISTIAN MEN SUPPORTING CHURCH GROWTH (formerly The Reformed
 Laymen’s Publicity Committee) will hold their fall meeting on Thursday,
 September 22 at First Reformed Church of Grandville.  Dinner will be
 served at 7:00 pm followed by a program at 7:45 pm.  The speaker for this
 event will be Rev. Todd Bush.  Call Bill Ver Hulst (538-6311) by September
 20 to place your reservations. 
 
THE METROPOLITAN CHOIR OF PRAISE, a 60-voice Christian Community
 Choir, will be holding auditions on September 15 & 22, 2005 and also on
 January 12, 2006.  All voice parts are needed and also instrumentalists –
 Drums, Bass Guitar and Acoustic Guitar.  You are invited to join us for
 rehearsal (7-9 pm) on any of the audition nights with auditions
 immediately following the rehearsal at Dutton Christian School,
 6729 Hanna Lake SE, Dutton, MI  49316.  Contact Mary Mc Alary at
