We are so blessed to have you worship with us today as we begin a new season of activities at Grace.

On Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings we will be studying what it means to be a Good Samaritan

in today’s world. Participant guides are available on the narthex table.

9:50 am – 11:15 am DISCOVERY KIDZ MEET. All children ages 3 years –
5th Grade meet downstairs for your very own service.

ELDERS INVITATION – If you have questions, concerns, joys, or
prayer needs that you would like to share, an Elder will be available
in the front of the sanctuary following the service this morning.

A FALL KICK OFF LUNCHEON will be held following the morning worship
service. Lunch for all and games for the kids! Everyone is invited to
join in on the fun!


6:00 PM KICK OFF DINNER – Lasagna, bread sticks, salad, dessert! Come 
 out and join us for a time of fellowship prior to Wednesday 
6:30 – 7:30 PM SENIOR CHOIR meets for practice.
6:45 – 8:00 PM
 GEMS for girls in grades K – 8 meet at the Crossing.
 CADETS for boys in grades 1 – 8 meet in the choir room.
 B.I.G. CREW for preschool children will meet in the nursery.
7:00 – 8:00 PM ADULT CLASS will meet in the Consistory Room.
 START Becoming a Good Samaritan ~ The DVD that goes 
 along with our Sunday Sermon Series will be shown, followed
 by discussion. Ron Engels will lead this class.


THE SUNDAY SCHOOL GUIDE CLASS will begin following the morning service.
Meet in the Consistory Room

ALSO, IN THE CHAPEL, a 30 minute DVD that corresponds with the
morning message will be shown!


HEALTH CONCERNS – See the Prayer and Praise Line for all the prayer
requests and praise reports.

OUR CHRISTIAN SYMPATHIES: On Sunday, September 5, Bonnie Harmsen
went home to be with the Lord. Our Christian sympathies are
extended to Ron as well as her family and friends. Services were
held on Thursday with Pastor Rick officiating.

IN APPRECIATION – We just wanted to say thank you for all the thoughts,
prayers, cards and gifts that were sent our way for the birth of our
son Hayden. We are so blessed to be part of such a wonderful
church family even when we are so far away! Thank you again!

HELP WANTED – SNOW SHOVELERS for our church grounds for the
winter months. Pay will be $12.50 per hour. Contact Stan De Witt
(455-2009) or Dan Stuk (532-7729) for more information.

NEEDED – DRIVERS to transport Esther Hoag on Sunday morning and
Wednesday evenings. If you can help, please call Shari.

OUR GRACE CHOIR was asked to give a concert at the new facility of Allen
Springs Lodge in Jenison on Wednesday, September 22. The
performance starts at 7 PM and choir members are asked to be there
by 6:30 pm. Coffee & goodies to follow.

THE SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of September is designated for Matt &
Lindsey (Foster) De Young. Lindsey grew up at Grace and has
decided, along with her husband, to go to Tanzania for 2 years.
Lindsey will be serving the orphans and at-risk children of the area
and Matt will be helping to develop a Christian business training that
will teach local business people how to run a more successful and
profitable business. Matt & Lindsey will be with us next
Sunday to provide more details. This special offering will be
collected on September 26.

COMING! FOOD DRIVE COLLECTION: September 12 – October 3 we will
collect food (non-perishable) items, personal care products, cleaning
supplies, and paper products for the County Wide Food Drive which
will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2010. More details to come, but
if you see big sales, pick up a few items early!

COUNTY WIDE FOOD DRIVE is coming up on October 9. Once again we
will host the SW Food Collection! Volunteers are needed to collect
food from the neighboring streets (drivers & persons to walk to the
homes to pick up the food). Volunteers are also needed to help sort
and box the food so it can be picked up by the pantries. Finally, a few
volunteers are needed to prepare and serve the food for the
volunteers! The action begins at 9 AM with a short Praise Rally.
Please check your calendars and come help for a few hours…you can
pick your own hours from 9 AM till 2 PM. Check the Galaxy for more
information and sign up in the narthex!

COOKIES are also needed the day of the County Wide Food Drive. If you
would like to make cookies for the volunteers, sign up in the narthex!

 Pray this week for Fay De Jong and Deb Pierce following surgery.
 We pray today for Lucille Sytsema and John De Jong as they go through treatments.
 Praise God for His precious gift of His Son and through Him, life eternal.
 Pray for all those who have recently lost loved ones, in particular this week pray for the Harmsen family.
 Please pray for Connie Maile, sister of Jim Emelander, who is battling cancer.
 We thank God for HIS awesome presence in our lives!
