THIS MORNING we are happy to introduce THOM MC GUIRE as our new
Club 3:16 Coordinator. Thom also works with A.C.T.I.O.N. (Assisting
Challenged Teens in our Neighborhood) and has had many
experiences working with youth. Welcome Thom!

 PRAYERS & PRAISE

HEALTH CONCERNS – Christy Kleymeer had great reports following
her surgery! Her right lobe and lymph node were all clear of cancer!

http://butterflylights.blogspot.com. Luke Nordlund will undergo
outpatient knee surgery on Thursday, September 17th at Metro
Hospital. See the Prayers & Praise Line for all prayer requests and
praise reports.

OUR CHRISTIAN SYMPATHIES to the family of Henrietta Te Ronde who
passed away on Thursday, September 3rd at the age of 91. Services
were held on Tuesday, September 8 with Pastor Rick officiating.

IN APPRECIATION – Thank you to Pastor Rick for his visit before
surgery and to the congregation for the cards and prayers as she is
recovering following surgery. ~Janell Nordlund

1:00 PM ELIZABETH CIRCLE will meet in the Consistory Room. The
new Study Book on Acts will be handed out. All ladies are
invited to join us.

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2009
9:00 AM WEDNESDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY CLASS will meet in the 
 Consistory Room. Lesson: Luke 10.

6:00 PM KICK OFF DINNER - BBQ, salads, and desserts! Join Us!!

A nursery will be provided for children under
preschool age on Wednesdays.

6:30 – 7:30 PM SENIOR CHOIR meets for practice.
6:45 – 8:00 PM
 GEMS for girls in grades K – 8 meet at the Crossing.
 CADETS for boys in grades 1 – 8 meet in the choir room.
 B.I.G. CREW for preschool children will meet in the nursery.
7:00 – 8:00 PM ADULT CLASS will meet in the Consistory Room.
 This class will begin with a study of the SERMON ON THE
 MOUNT. What does it mean to seek first the kingdom in our
 relationships, values, ambitions, finances and commitment to
 God? Jesus’ answer to these questions amazed those who first
 heard the Sermon on the Mount. In this study you will be
 amazed and challenged by the greatest sermon ever preached.
 Ron Engels will lead this class.

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2009
7:00 PM TRAINING SESSION FOR ALL DISCOVERY KIDZ AND S.O.N.G.
VOLUNTEERS. If you are involved in the programs this is a
MUST! This evening you will experience first hand what the
program will look like and a walk thru of your area that you will
be leading. Also, we would encourage anyone who would like
to see what the program looks like to attend as well. If you have
any questions, contact Heather Dood at 534-1794.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, 2009
7:00 – 10:00 PM SCRAPBOOKING at the Crossing! Invite your
friends to come along.

 NEXT SUNDAY – SEPTEMBER 20, 2009

NEXT SUNDAY Pastor Rick will begin a new series of messages entitled
“In His Footsteps”. We will celebrate baptism with the Marshall
family. You are invited to the Crossing following the morning service
to see more of the Marshall’s experiences traveling to Ethiopia to get
their son Kaleab.

 MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

THE PROCESS FOR ELECTING ELDERS & DEACONS has begun. Please see
the letter in your mailbox today explaining all the details as well as
the insert in the bulletin.

THE “BELONGING” NEW MEMBERS CLASS will be held this fall, beginning
the week of September 20. It may be held following the worship
service on Sundays or during the Wednesday night activities on
Wednesday…we would like input from the persons who are
interested. Please sign up in the narthex if you are interested in
learning more about this class and Shari will contact you.

GRACE CADETS - MEN ARE NEEDED to help out on occasion with some of
the projects. We would love to see some intergenerational
connection made with these boys. If you can’t be there all the time,
maybe this would be a way for you to use your gifts!

THE SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of September is designated for
LOVE, INC. Love, Inc provides many of the snacks that are served at
Club 3:16!

HELP with the YOUTH PROGRAMS is still needed on Sunday and
Wednesday. See Heather Dood … there is a spot especially suited
for YOU!

THE GRACE BUILDING FUND DRIVE fund drive will continue. You can put
your gift envelope in the offering plate or designate it on your budget
envelope at any time!

LEADERSHIP TRAINING EVENT – Volunteers in Service is sponsoring this
event Thursday, September 24 at Brookside CRC. TODAY is the
deadline for reservations! See Shari for more information.

THE COUNTY WIDE FOOD DRIVE is coming October 10. Grace will again
be the Collection Site for Wyoming. Sign up sheets are on the
narthex table if you would be willing to help.

FOOD DRIVE HERE AT GRACE! Because of the huge need in Wyoming for
food this year, we will be collecting food for the next month prior to
the Food Drive on October 10. Please watch for sales and buy food
and personal care items and bring them to church between
September 13 and October 4. Thank you in advance!

 Please keep Lacey Thorner (Wylie) and her baby son in your prayers. The baby is due in November.
 Pray for encouragement and strength for Al Grimm at Kent Community Hospital.
 We praise God for good reports for Christy Kleymeer.
 We pray for strength and encouragement for all those who struggle with daily activities.
 Please be in prayer as we kick off our fall season of activities.
 Pray for Heather Dood and Thom McGuire as they begin their work with the youth of Grace and our neighborhood.
 We thank God for the many people that have already volunteered to help at Grace. We pray that more will be moved to do so.
 We pray today for those who grieve, in particular the friends and family of Henrietta Te Ronde.
