HEALTH CONCERNS – Jim Friar will undergo surgery at the University
of Michigan Hospital on September 18. Ron Vander Werp
continues to undergo testing on a mass in his lungs. Hank Hoezee
is now under Hospice care at Crystal Springs. Please keep
these families in your prayers. See the Prayers & Praise Line for all
other prayer concerns & praise reports.
IN APPRECIATION – Ron & I wish to thank you so very much for your
prayers, cards, meals, and concern these past months as we went
through a long, trying, period of chemo and tests. Your kindness
has been truly appreciated. Now we ask you to continue with
prayers as I go through another major cancer surgery on
September 22. At the end of October I will again begin a long period
of chemo and really need your support. Our sincere thanks.
Thank you to Pastor Rick for his visits and to the congregation for
all the prayers & cards following Jack’s stroke. They are very much

This will be a special joint service with the Wyoming RCA Churches to
be held at Wyoming Park High School Auditorium. SUNDAY SCHOOL
TEACHERS NOTE: NO Sunday School classes will be held this day.
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 9 – WOMEN’S NIGHT OUT – All those who reserved
their ticket will see the play “Church Basement Ladies”.
VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED for ELEMENTARY CLUB on Thursdays this fall
from 3:30 – 5:30 pm. Sign up in the narthex or see Kia!
THE SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of September is designated for
HOPE COLLEGE. This special offering will be received on Sunday,
COUNTY WIDE FOOD DRIVE – SATURDAY, OCTOBER 11 – Grace is the
collection site for the SW area. You can help by buying food now,
when you see sales, and bring the food to Grace. This food will be
collected & added to the drive on Oct. 11. You can also sign up to be a
DRIVER or RUNNER, SORTER, OR PREPARE AND SERVE THE LUNCH for
the volunteers. The day will begin with a rally in our sanctuary at
9 AM. Sign up today in the narthex if you would like to help. You
can also sign up to bring HOMEMADE COOKIES for the workers!
FALL EDUCATION GUIDE – Extra copies of the Fall Education Guide are
on the narthex table if you did not get one last week.
LOOKING FOR DONATIONS OF YARD TOOLS for Club 3:16 service projects.
Needed are rakes, gloves, masks, push brooms, dust pans, jumbo
outdoor garbage bags. See Kia if you have any questions. Sign up
on the narthex table if you have something to donate.
SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS NEEDED: We are in need of a few more
leaders and helpers! Even if you can only help a couple times a
month, feel free to join us! Some of our leaders have decided to take
the year off, so that opens up a spot or two for you! Questions?
SCHOOL BAG PROJECT – The deadline to turn in your sewn school bags
is September 28. See Shari if you have any questions.
LEADERSHIP TRAINING EVENT - Thursday, September 25, 6:00 - 9:30 pm.
Volunteers in Service is putting on a workshop for anyone who
wishes to improve their leadership abilities. TODAY IS THE DEADLINE
to sign up. Your registration fee will be covered. See Shari if you
have any questions.
PRAYER WALKS in the neighborhood of Grace are taking place on
Monday evenings, Tuesday morning, Wednesday evening, and
Saturday morning once a month (on the week prior to and including
the 3rd Saturday). More walkers are welcome. Sign up on the form in
DRIVERS NEEDED to drop off Club 3:16 youth in the Wyoming area on
Wednesday & Thursday late afternoons. No special driver’s license
needed. Training will be provided. See Darrell or Kia if interested.
DO YOU HAVE A SPECIAL NEED that our Club 3:16 kids can help you with.
We are doing service projects and would like to help you with raking,
shoveling, or any miscellaneous work you may be in need of. We
have set September 20 as our first service date. Contact Kia with
your need (538-3100 or 452-1136) or sign up in the narthex.
