We are so blessed to have you worship with us today! On Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings we

will be studying what it means to be a Good Samaritan in today’s world. Participant guides are available on

the narthex table. Cost for this guide is $5.00. If you are able, you can pay for your book by putting your

donation in the offering plate in an envelope marked “START”,
or you can pay in the office.


TODAY WE WELCOME Matt & Lindsey (Foster) De Young to our
worship service. Lindsey grew up at Grace and has decided, along
with her husband, to go to Tanzania for 2 years. Lindsey will be
serving the orphans and at-risk children of the area and Matt will be
helping to develop a Christian business training that will teach local
business people how to run a more successful and profitable
business. Our Special Offering for the month of September is
designated for the De Young’s mission. This offering will be received
next week.

9:50 am – 11:15 am DISCOVERY KIDZ MEET. All children ages
3 years – 5th Grade meet downstairs for your very own service.

ELDERS INVITATION – If you have questions, concerns, joys, or
prayer needs that you would like to share, an Elder will be available
in the front of the sanctuary following the service this morning.

THE SUNDAY SCHOOL GUIDE CLASS will begin following the
morning service. Meet in the Consistory Room

ALSO, IN THE CHAPEL, a 30 minute DVD that corresponds with
the morning message will be shown!




1:00 PM THE ELIZABETH CIRCLE will meet in the
Consistory Room. All Women are welcome!

6:00 PM KICK OFF DINNER – On the menu…Hot Dogs, Chili 
 Dogs, French Fries, Salad, and Dessert! Join us for a time of 
 fellowship prior to Wednesday classes!
6:30 PM SENIOR CHOIR will give a concert at the new facility of
 Allen Springs Lodge in Jenison. The performance starts at
 7 PM and choir members are asked to be there by 6:30 pm. 
 Coffee & goodies to follow.
6:45 – 8:00 PM S.O.N.G. (Soldiers of the Next Generation) for 
 preschool children through the 5th Grade. Meet in the 
 Fellowship Hall.
7:00 – 8:00 PM ADULT CLASS will meet in the Consistory
 Room. START Becoming a Good Samaritan ~ The DVD that
 goes along with our Sunday Sermon Series will be shown,
 followed by discussion. Ron Engels will lead this class.


Join us next Sunday as we look at “Caring for the Sick at Home”. Pastor
Rick will share the message! Our special offering for the month of
September designated for Matt & Lindsey De Young will be received.


HEALTH CONCERNS – Lucille Sytsema continues at Butterworth
Hospital. Jim Herrema will undergo hip replacement surgery
tomorrow at St. Mary’s Hospital. See the Prayer and Praise Line for
all the prayer requests and praise reports.



Tuesday, September 28, 7:00 PM MISSION/OUTREACH

Sunday, October 3, 10:00 am WORLD WIDE COMMUNION
SUNDAY. This will be a combined service with other area
churches and will be held at Wyoming Park High School Auditorium.
This will be in place of our morning service at Grace.

Monday, October 4, 6:30 PM ELDERS MEETING.


HELP WANTED – SNOW SHOVELERS for our church grounds for
the winter months. Pay will be $12.50 per hour. Contact Stan
De Witt (455-2009) or Dan Stuk (532-7729) for more information.

NEEDED – DRIVERS to transport Esther Hoag on Sunday morning
and Wednesday evenings. If you can help, please call Shari.

WEDNESDAY DINNERS – If anyone would like to donate a dessert,
or help in any way with the dinners on Wednesday nights, please
contact Tymie Boeve at 531-5700.

PUMPKIN PATH – Candy donations for the Pumpkin Path activity
which will be held at Lamar Park on Saturday, October 9 are needed!
Our Discovery Kidz will be hosting a booth, handing out candy and
church info to the approximately 3000 kids that participate.
VOLUNTEERS (Youth and Adults) are also needed to hand out the
candy. Candy donations can be brought to the youth desk downstairs.

DISCOVERY KIDZ next rotation (Oct. 10 – Nov. 7) is in need of 3
Shepherds! Can you help? Sign up in the narthex or see Heather

WEDNESDAY NIGHT LIVE helpers needed on the 2nd and 4th
Wednesday! Help needed in the nursery, devotions, and crafts. See
Heather ASAP! Thanks.

A NEW MEMBERS CLASS will begin on Wednesday, September
29th from 7 – 8 pm. For those who would like to learn more about
having a relationship with Jesus Christ and His church. This class
will enable you to make Profession of Faith, but will not obligate you.

FOOD DRIVE COLLECTION: September 12 – October 3 we will
collect food (non-perishable) items, personal care products, cleaning
supplies, and paper products for the County Wide Food Drive which
will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2010. Bring items to the narthex
or by the bench at the downstairs doors.

COUNTY WIDE FOOD DRIVE is coming up on October 9. Once
again we will host the SW Food Collection! Volunteers are needed to
collect food from the neighboring streets (drivers & persons to walk
to the homes to pick up the food). Volunteers are also needed to help
sort and box the food so it can be picked up by the pantries. Finally,
a few volunteers are needed to prepare and serve the food for the
volunteers! The action begins at 9 AM with a short Praise Rally.
Please check your calendars and come help for a few hours…you can
pick your own hours from 9 AM till 2 PM. Check the Galaxy for more
information and sign up in the narthex!

COOKIES are also needed the day of the County Wide Food Drive. If
you would like to make cookies for the volunteers, sign up in the
narthex! You can bring your cookies on or before October 9th.

September 16th and 23rd rehearsals. Come use your musical gifts for
the Lord in song! Rehearsals are every Thurs. from 7:15 - 9:00 pm.

 Remember John De Jong as he continues his chemotherapy treatments.
 Lift up Jim Herrema in your prayers as he undergoes surgery tomorrow.
