TODAY AT GRACE

TODAY we welcome Rev. Harvey Heneveld to our service! We thank

 you for being with us and sharing the message on this Lord’s Day.

 

DISCOVERY KIDZ will not meet today. Children are invited to

 worship with their parents in the sanctuary today. 

 

A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George and Connections.

 

5:00 PM A COMBINED WORSHIP service will be held at Unity

 Reformed Church, 4450 Poinsettia SE, Kentwood. Pastor Mark will

 be continuing the series “The Gospel of John”. Please note the early

 start time!

THE NEXT GALAXY will soon be published. Please have your

 announcements in to Pat Ter Beek or Sandy Gort by Wednesday,

 September 4. You may also place your announcements in the bin

 attached to the file cabinet in the office.

 

PRAYER MARATHON – We will hold a 24 hour Prayer Marathon on

 Monday, September 9 for Shawn Keener, UCOM Program Director,

 who has been diagnosed with cancer. Sign up for a time slot and

 commit to pray for Shawn right where you are. A signup sheet is on

 the narthex table for all those who would like to participate.

 

TOILET PAPER COLLECTION FOR FNOW – We will continue to

 collect for the next couple of weeks. We brought one load over when

 we learned they were completely out! Thank you all so much for your

 generous donations.

 

GRIEF-SHARE – “Your Journey from Mourning to Joy”. This 11 week

 video series is being held at Unity Reformed Church beginning on

 Saturday, September 7 at 10:00 am and will include lunch. Each

 session is “self-contained” so you do not have to attend all. You will

 find encouragement and help. Contact the church office at Unity if

 you are interested 538-2340.

Congregational Prayers and Praise

  • We thank God today for our teachers, both here at Grace and in our schools. 
  • We pray for the students in our congregation and ask God to be with them and help them to meet the challenges of each new day.
  • We thank and praise God for our jobs and means to support our families.
  • As plans are being made, please be in prayer for our fall programs and events!
  • Remember Mac Mc Alary in your prayers as well as Mary and the family. 
  • Pray for Rose Borkowski as she was brought into emergency this week with stomach pains.
  • We praise God for the good news that Rita Oppenhuizen, mother of Pastor Rick, was able to return to Maple Creek and is doing well. 
  • Please continue to keep Pastor Rick and Donna’s brother in law, Art Radlicki, of Escanaba, in your prayers as he recovers from a car accident.
  • Please pray for Shawn Keener who is battling cancer. Shawn is the Program Director at UCOM and we have worked closely with her during our ACCESS Food Drives here at Grace. 
  • Continue to be in prayer for Lola De Young and her parents, Matt & Lindsey. 
  • Continue to keep Amie Pierce in your prayers as she is stationed at Fort Riley in Kansas.
  • Pray for our Shut-in’s: Mr. Ralph Bolt, Mrs Tena DeVink, Mrs. Jane Duthler, Mrs. Wilma Kamphuis, Mrs Miriam Schrotenboer, Mrs Ruth Ver Merris.
