 TODAY AT GRACE

THE SACRAMENT OF INFANT BAPTISM will be administered today to
Riley Lynn Dood, daughter of Jayme & Heather Dood. The
flowers on the piano are in honor of her baptism.

OUR MINISTRY OF MUSIC today is presented by Connor Dood. Connor is
a seventh grader at Dutton Christian Middle School and a member of
Caledonia Christian Reformed Church. Thank you Connor, for your
special part in our service today.

CHILDREN & WORSHIP
Children ages 3 & 4 meet in Fellowship Hall with Worship
Leaders Darrell Delaney and Lyndsey Boeve. Children K –
2nd Grade meet in the Choir Room with Worship Leaders
Lynda Ver Merris and Pat Ter Beek.

11:20 – 12:20 PM SUNDAY SCHOOL - There are classes available for all
ages three years old and upward. A nursery is available for those
children under the age of three.

HIGH SCHOOL AND POST HIGH SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS – Meet at the
Crossing with Pastor Rick.

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES
Sunday School Guide Class will meet in the Consistory Room. Join
them for lively discussions relating to our Christian walk.
Managing Our Finances God’s Way – The Bible is packed with wise
counsel about your financial life. In fact Jesus had more to say about
money than about heaven & hell combined! In this video based study
we will examine the subject of biblical financial management. Meet
in the chapel.

SUNDAYS AT SIX – Tonight Pastor Rick will continue the study of
I, II, & III John. A time of discussion will follow the message.

NEXT SUNDAY – Pastor Rick will continue the series GROWING IN
DISCIPLESHIP with the message: “WHAT’S GOING ON INSIDE?” from
Ephesians 2:1-10, 4:1-6. At the close of the morning service
NOMINATIONS FOR ELDERS & DEACONS will be received.

A NEW MEMBERS CLASS will begin during the Sunday School Hour. Sign
up in the narthex or call Shari Dood (538-3100 or 538-7498) if you
have any questions.

 PRAYERS & PRAISE

HEALTH CONCERNS – Carole Lankheet will undergo surgery tomorrow
at Blodgett. Jim Friar underwent surgery at the University
of Michigan Hospital on September 18. Please keep these families
in your prayers. See the Prayers & Praise Line for all other prayer
concerns & praise reports.

IN APPRECIATION – Dear congregation of Grace: Just a note of thanks
and appreciation for playing a part on the 2008 Class Act Backpack
Drive team this year. Thank you for making this year’s drive so
great. With your church’s help, we were able to bless over 2000
West Michigan students with backpacks and supplies. Thank you
for being a servant of the Lord and for giving cheerfully from your

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 2, 7:00 PM THURSDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDY GROUP
will begin their fall season with a meeting at the Crossing.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 5, 10:00 AM WORLD WIDE COMMUNION SUNDAY –
This will be a special joint service with the Wyoming RCA Churches to
be held at Wyoming Park High School Auditorium. SUNDAY SCHOOL
TEACHERS NOTE: NO Sunday School classes will be held this day.

MONDAY, OCTOBER 6, 6:30 PM ELDERS MEETING. 7:30 PM CONSISTORY

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 9 – WOMEN’S NIGHT OUT – All those who reserved
their ticket will see the play “Church Basement Ladies”.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 11 - COUNTY WIDE FOOD DRIVE – Grace is the
collection site for the SW area. You can help by buying food now,
when you see sales, and bring the food to Grace. This food will be
collected & added to the drive on Oct. 11. You can also sign up to be a
DRIVER or RUNNER, SORTER, OR PREPARE AND SERVE THE LUNCH for
the volunteers. The day will begin with a rally in our sanctuary at
9 AM. Sign up today in the narthex if you would like to help. You
can also sign up to bring HOMEMADE COOKIES for the workers!

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 10, 5 – 9 PM DISCOVERY KIDS MOVIE NIGHT.
All discovery kids, GEMS, Cadets, parents, teachers & Helpers…
Come to the Crossing for a fun night with pizza, pop, movies! 


 MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

COOKBOOKS for sale! Proceeds to go towards enhancements for our
church kitchen. Cost is $6.50 each. These cookbooks make great
gifts! Order sheets are available on the narthex table.

THE SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of September is designated for
HOPE COLLEGE. This special offering will be received on Sunday,
September 28.

MISSION BUS TRIP OPPORTUNITY – This is your LAST CHANCE to sign up
to go on the Learn & Serve Bus Trip from November 10-14, 2008 to
Baltimore. See Shari if you are interested.

LOOKING FOR DONATIONS OF YARD TOOLS for Club 3:16 service projects.
Needed are rakes, gloves, masks, push brooms, dust pans, jumbo
outdoor garbage bags. See Kia if you have any questions. Sign up
on the narthex table if you have something to donate.

SCHOOL BAG PROJECT – The deadline to turn in your sewn school bags
is September 28. See Shari if you have any questions.

PRAYER WALKS in the neighborhood of Grace are taking place on
Monday evenings, Tuesday morning, Wednesday evening, and
Saturday morning once a month (on the week prior to and including
the 3rd Saturday). More walkers are welcome. Sign up on the form in
the narthex.

DRIVERS NEEDED to drop off Club 3:16 youth in the Wyoming area on
Wednesday & Thursday late afternoons. No special driver’s license
needed. Training will be provided. See Darrell or Kia if interested.

DO YOU HAVE A SPECIAL NEED that our Club 3:16 kids can help you with.
We are doing service projects and would like to help you with raking,
shoveling, or any miscellaneous work you may be in need of. Contact
Kia with your need (538-3100 or 452-1136) or sign up in the narthex.
