 WELCOME
 
Today is the gateway to another week.  We join here to thank God for a new week and a new season of promise and possibilities.  Let us welcome the opportunity to worship.  Let us prepare ourselves to be God’s people and spread His word to all who may cross our path in the days and weeks ahead.  Please sign your name and address on the Fellowship Register as it is passed so we can get to know you better!
 
 TODAY AT GRACE
 
 CHILDREN & WORSHIP
 Children ages 3 & 4 years meet in Room 1 in the Discovery
 Kids hallway with Worship Leader Heather Dood. 
 Children K – 2nd Grade meet in the choir room with
 Worship Leaders Lynda Ver Merris and Amy Grimm. 
 You will be dismissed during the offering time. 
 
THE SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of September is designated for
 ACCESS (All Area Churches Emergency Support System).  This
 special collection will be received today.
 
 
BELONGING CLASS (New Member Class) – Explore what it means to
 belong to Jesus Christ and His Church.  If you want to learn more
 about the Reformed Church, or, if you would like to make Profession
 of Faith, you will want to become part of this 6 week class that starts
 today during the Sunday School hour.  Meet in Pastor Rick’s office.
 
11:20 AM–12:20 PM SUNDAY SCHOOL - There are classes
 available for all ages three years old and upward.  A nursery is
 available for those children under the age of three. 
 
ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES
 Sunday School Guide Class will meet in the Consistory Room.  Join
 them for lively discussions relating to our Christian walk.
 Spiritual Warfare in the Old Testament – Brad Class will lead this  
 group in the Chapel. 
 You Were Shaped For Serving God – Taken from the 40 Days of
 Purpose materials, this Dood/Zondervan Bible Study Group will
 meet in the main room at The Crossing each week. 
 
5:00–6:00 PM SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS meeting in the Fellowship Hall.
 
SUNDAYS AT SIX – Rev. Murray & Carol Moerman will be with us.
 Murray will share about serving as the Europe Area Director to 
 oversee, resource and begin missionary teams throughout Western
 and Eastern Europe, and east across the former USSR with their
 parent mission OC International. Join us in the Chapel.
 
7:00 – 8:00 PM INDEED! HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH GROUP at the Crossing.
 
 PRAYERS & PRAISE
 
HEALTH CONCERNS – Peter Cook was a patient at Meijer Heart Center
 where he had a pacemaker implanted.  He was able to return home
 on Tuesday.  Joan Patterson was hospitalized earlier but was doing
 well and expected to return to her home. See the Prayers & Praise
 Line today for all the Prayer Requests and Praise Reports.
 
IN APPRECIATION –I just wanted to express my sincere thanks to the
 congregation, the Sunshine Committee and my Caring Shepherds
 for all of the cards and well wishes I have received over the past few
 months. All of your thoughts and prayers are so greatly

NEXT SUNDAY we will celebrate communion with Christians around the
 world on World Wide Communion Sunday.  Pastor Rick will continue
 with the series “Core Values for Church and Life” with the message
 “The Standard of Service”. 
 
NOMINATIONS will be received next Sunday for Elders & Deacons to serve
 on the Consistory.  Please prayerfully consider whom you will

 BATTERY GIVEAWAY.  Meet here at church and we will canvas the
 neighborhood giving away 9 volt batteries for smoke detectors and
 information about our church.  Sign up in the narthex or see Nikki.
 
Friday, October 13, 7-11 pm SCRAPBOOKING NIGHT AT THE CROSSING!
 Ladies come for a night away!  Bring your own supplies…come and
 go as you wish.  Bring along a snack to share!
 
Tuesday, December 5th WOMENS CANDLELIGHT CHRISTMAS.  Save the
 date.  Sandy Bennett will be our guest speaker.  A special evening is
 being planned for your family & friends!  Dessert will be served in the
 Fellowship Hall.  Once again tables will be festively decorated by the
 hostesses.  You won’t want to miss this annual holiday event.  Start
 thinking about being a hostess!
 
 MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS
 
URGENT FOOD COLLECTION!  The Food Pantries are either out or have
 a very low supply of canned vegetables, condensed soups, peanut
 butter and macaroni & cheese.  In the past Grace has really come
 through to help so PLEASE bring food to church anytime from now
 until the  County Wide Food Drive on October 14th.  Thank you! 
 
TOOLS NEEDED FOR THE CADETS! If you have any hand or power tools
 that you would like to donate to the Cadets, contact Jayme Dood at
 534-1794.
 
WOULD YOU LIKE TO BUILD A HOME in St. Charles Louisiana for
 hurricane victims?  The RCA is partnering with Habitat again and
 they are in need of volunteers November 6-10.  If you are interested,
 please contact Shari for details.  We realize this is a last minute
 request but if there is enough interest we will take part in it.  In the
 spring we will also be looking at a work project, either with Habitat in
 LA or doing home repair/cleanup in the McComb Mississippi area.
 
D & W FUND RAISING DAYS ARE HERE AGAIN! D & W will donate 5% of
 our group’s total sales back to our Youth Groups.  All you need is our
 code 95688.  Local participating D & W’s are the Grandville, Breton
 Village, Caledonia, Rockford & Cascade stores.  The dates for this
 promotion are OCTOBER 1-7 and NOVEMBER 12-18.  Just jot down
 our code and shop!  ALSO don’t forget to use your Meijer Community
 Rewards card each time you shop at Meijers.  If you don’t have a
 community rewards card, applications are on the narthex table.
 
ALASKA CHALLENGE – More persons are welcome to join the group going
 to Alaska July 21-31, 2007 for the Spiritual  & Leadership
 Development trip.  The next informational meeting is October 8. 
 Contact Shari Dood or Ray & Robin Zondervan for more information.
 
EMPTY SOUP CANS are needed for a children’s craft project on October
 1st.  Please bring empty cans to the church kitchen.
