 TODAY AT GRACE

THIS MORNING WE WELCOME Rev. Lou Roossien, executive director of
The Other Way, to our worship service. We thank you for being with
us and sharing the message this Lord’s Day.

MINISTRY OF MUSIC – Our music ministry this morning is presented by
Lexie Wagoner of our congregation. Thank you, Lexie, for your
testimony in song today.

CHILDREN & WORSHIP will not meet this week or next. Children &
Worship will kick off the fall season on September 16th!

6:00 PM A JOINT SERVICE will be held at Faith Reformed Church,
618 32nd Street, Wyoming. Rev. Bruce Osbeck will present the
message. This will take the place of our service at Grace.

 PRAYERS & PRAISE

HEALTH CONCERNS – Leora Totten had a severe stroke on Friday,
August 24 and is now under Hospice care at Brookcrest Nursing
Home. See the Prayers & Praise Line in your bulletin today for all
the other prayer concerns and praise reports.

IN APPRECIATION – The Friar family is very appreciative of all the
prayers, cards, and phone calls from our Grace family. I am
recovering and hope to be back in a couple weeks. ~Jim Friar

4:30 PM PRAYER MEETING in Pastor Rick’s office.
6:30 PM CLUB 3:16 & SUNDAY SCHOOL VOLUNTEER TRAINING
MEETING. Food will be provided. The new Child
Protection Policy will be explained at this time.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 2007
4:30 PM YOUTH OF ALL AGES are invited to the 2nd annual Youth
Kick off. There will be fun, games and food! Bring your
friends! The theme this year is “IT’S HARVESTING TIME:
LET’S PLANT!” Matthew 9:35-38. Questions? See Darrell.


 NEXT SUNDAY – SEPTEMBER 9, 2007
 FALL PROGRAM KICK-OFF

NEXT SUNDAY morning Pastor Rick will begin a new series of messages
Connected in Colossians. See the insert in your bulletin for
all the details. Following the morning service information will be
presented on all the opportunities available for both youth and adults
this fall season. Tables will be set up in the fellowship hall with
details and a DINNER of BBQ, salads and desserts will be served!

7:00 – 9:00 PM !INDEED! HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH GROUP starts. Meet at
the Crossing. We will meet every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month.

 SPECIAL DATES TO REMEMBER

Monday, September 10, 7:00 pm ELDERS MEETING (Note the time!)
7:30 pm CONSISTORY MEETING.

Wednesday, September 12, 9:00 am - The THESSALONIANS BIBLE STUDY
group will meet in the Consistory Room. Beginning in October this
group will meet on the 1st Wednesday of the month at 9:00 am.

Wednesday, September 12, 6:45 – 8:15 PM TURNAROUND MIDDLE
SCHOOL YOUTH GROUP starts. Meet at the Crossing. We will meet
every 2nd & 4th Wednesday of the month.

Saturday, September 15, 2:00 pm GOLF OUTING - The Fellowship Team
is planning a golf outing on at the Pines Golf Course. Following golf,
dinner will be served on the back deck. Please bring a salad or
dessert to pass. Don’t golf? - Just come for dinner and fellowship!

Sunday, September 16 – SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES will begin.

Wednesday, September 19, 6:45 pm CADETS & GEMS will begin.
Meetings will take place every 1st & 3rd Wednesday of the month.


Friday, September 21, 7:00 – 10:00 pm SCRAPBOOKING NIGHT at the
Crossing. Everyone is invited! Mark you calendar – the 3rd Friday of
each month will be designated for scrapbooking at the Crossing!

 MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

A CHILDREN & WORSHIP APPRECIATION DINNER and C & W TRAINING
SESSION for all current leaders and helpers and those who are
interested in joining this team in the coming year will be held
Tuesday, September 11. Dinner will begin at 6:00 pm with the
Children & Worship training session from 7:00 – 8:00 pm. Please
RSVP to Heather Dood (534-1794) by September 5.
Following this meeting the Child Protection Policy will be explained
to those who have not yet attended a Child Protection Policy meeting.

THE NEXT GALAXY will soon be published. Articles are due by
September 5 to Sandy Gort, Pat Ter Beek, or you can place them in
the bin attached to the file cabinet in the main office.

NOTE: CHILD PROTECTION POLICY – Everyone, including High School
Youth and older, planning on being involved in children/youth work
at Grace (including Bible School) must attend one of the meetings
on the Child Protection Policy. Meetings will be held Thursday,
Sept. 6 at 6:30 pm and Tuesday, September 11 at 8:00 pm.

ANYONE INTERESTED IN HELPING WITH CHILDREN’S SUNDAY SCHOOL,
MIDDLE SCHOOL SUNDAY SCHOOL AND/OR MIDDLE SCHOOL
CLUB 3:16, please let Darrell know ASAP. Please see him after the
service TODAY.

CLUB 3:16 will begin Tuesday, September 11. This year elementary
students will meet on Tuesday, Middle School on Wednesday, and
High School on Thursday. See Nikki if you would like to help any of
these days!

VIS (VOLUNTEERS IN TRAINING) EVENT – If anyone would like to attend
the VIS Leadership Training Event which is to be held Thursday,
September 27 from 7:00 – 9:45 pm at Brookside CRC, please pick up
a copy of the workshop details on the narthex table. The cost of the
event, $20 will be paid by church if needed but we do encourage you
to pay this (if you are able) up front, or in your giving to the church.
Please respond by turning in your application to Shari by Sunday,
Sept. 16, so we can get the reduced rate.
