TODAY AT GRACE

 

9:50 – 11:15 AM DISCOVERY KIDZ will meet.  All children ages

 3 years – 5th grade meet downstairs by the youth desk.  The new fall

 theme…We Believe!

 

THE ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS will meet in the

 Consistory room following the morning service.  They cover various

 subject matter using the Sunday School Guide.  You are welcome to

 join them!

 

A PRAYER GROUP will meet following the service in the sanctuary

 to pray for Pastor George & Connections, and the needs and vision at

 Grace Reformed Church.

 

THE 6:00 PM EVENING SERVICE will be held at Faith Reformed

 Church, 618 32nd St SW, Wyoming.  You are invited to join with our

 sister church for a combined service.  In October we will be meeting

 here at Grace.

 

6:45 – 8:00 PM  Y-LIFE for Middle and High School Youth will meet

 at the Crossing.

 6:00 PM FELLOWSHIP DINNER – A Lasagna Dinner is on the

 menu!  Come out and enjoy dinner and a time of fellowship

 prior to classes.

PRAYERS & PRAISE

 

HEALTH CONCERNS – Mary Huizen is a patient at Butterworth

 Hospital.  Please continue to pray for Ed De Ruiter, who had surgery

 on Tuesday; John Sawyer, who had knee replacement surgery on

 Wednesday; and Larry Kleymeeer who had carpel tunnel surgery on

 Friday.  Alex Hill was experiencing some problems and had

 additional surgery last Monday but was able to return to her home on

 Wednesday.  Please remember all these persons in your prayers as

 they recover.  For all other praise reports and prayer requests, see the

 insert in today’s bulletin.

 

MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

CHECK YOUR MAILBOX today for a letter from Pastor Rick and the

 Consistory regarding upcoming election of Elders & Deacons.  There

 are a few changes that you will want to be aware of.

 

THE SPECIAL OFFERING for the month of September is designated

 for Western Seminary.  This special offering will be received on

 September 27.

 

GEMS will be selling various items as a fund raiser.  There are order

 sheets on the narthex table, or see one of the girls for a catalogue.

 

DISCOVERY KIDZ volunteers needed for the Fall rotations!  Is there

 a place where you can help?  A sign-up sheet is now in the narthex if

 you can help.

Congregational Prayers and Praise

  • We thank God today for a new season of opportunities at Grace.
  • Today we pray for CenterPoint Gahanna as they launch in just a few short weeks.  We give thanks for Dave & Vicki Jansen and their family.
  • We thank and praise God today for the many people who have volunteered to help in some way or another here at Grace.
  • We pray today for Pastor George and his work at Connections.  We pray for the many activities and groups at the Crossing.
  • We pray for Ed De Ruiter, John Sawyer, and Larry Kleymeer following surgeries.
  • Please be in prayer for Alex Hill after back surgery. 
  • We remember in our prayers Mary Huizen, who was hospitalized.
  • We pray today for Karen Ver Hulst.  We pray for returned strength and healing.
  • Thank you for remembering Wes Dekker’s sister, Janet, in your prayers. Please pray that they will be able to restrain any cancer left in her system. 
  • Please remember Marie Mc Donald, friend of Esther Hoag, who has cancer.  Also Esther’s sister, Wanda, had a mild stroke and is in need of our prayers.
  • Please continue to be in prayer for Lola De Young and her parents Matt & Lindsey.  Their family is now staying in Ann Arbor as Lola has begun the process of a bone marrow transplant at the U of M Children’s Hospital.
  • Pray for our Shut-in’s: Mrs. Tena DeVink, Mrs. Wilma Kamphuis, Mrs. Ruth Ver Merris.
  • Neighborhood Church Ministries is encouraging the community of churches in Wyoming to lift one another up in prayer.  This week we pray for Rev. Peter Hoang-Xuan-Nghiem and Our Lady of La Vong Church on Porter.  Let’s join together in this effort to encourage one another and lift one another up in prayer.
